A parent will do everything for their child’s sake. The love that they have for their children is immeasurable, but sometimes, as fate would have it, they are also tested when their child’s head is put underwater.
There is nothing more painful to a parent’s eyes than to see their little ones in deep pain, let alone when they are on the brink of death.
Mila Sneddon is a sweet little 4-year-old girl who’s unfortunately diagnosed with leukemia. To save her, she must undergo chemotherapy.
Given the current global health crisis because of the coronavirus, she is more prone to COVID-19 because of her extremely low immune system.
All these combined made everything harder for Mila and her family.
Her 50-year-old father, Scott, had to continue working as a service engineer even in the middle of the pandemic. Sadly, to put her child out of danger, he decided to move out of their house. The least that he wants to happen is him getting the virus and spreading it to the rest of his family.
Their top priority is Mila’s health, no more – no less!
Sometimes Scott would stop by to visit Mila, where they could only see each other through their kitchen window. He could only wave and give her air-hugs — it was not ideal, but it was what they, unfortunately, had to do.
After quite some time, Scott was placed on the government furlough scheme, which means he no longer needed to go to work.
So after her father isolated himself for a certain amount of time, he was finally given the OK to come back home and hold his sweet daughter in his arms.
What made this moment so special was that Mila had no idea that any of this was going on. She thought that he was still going to work and that he wasn’t isolating himself.
When Scott finally came to visit Mila and his family, the brave 4-year-old fighter was absolutely filled with joy when she saw dad step inside the house.
We are also thankful that there was someone on camera duty at this moment so that they could capture the whole moment on video. It was beyond magical and sweet and you are pretty much guaranteed to shed a tear.
While Scott’s standing outside the house, he tells Mila, “I’m going to come home today!”
When Mila confirms it, his dad answers with a resounding, “Right now. Right now.”
Then her father stands by his word and walks through the door. The smile on Mila’s face is so bright and big and she is clearly so happy. Finally, the two shared a long-awaited hug which turned out to be very emotional.
Because Scott was isolating, Mila’s mother — Lynda — was on driving duty and needed to take Mila to the hospital for her chemotherapy. What makes it even worse is that Lynda’s mother died from coronavirus.
Things couldn’t get worse for this family, they’re being tested with the back and forth turn of tragic events.
“It’s been difficult — it’s been challenging,” Lynda said. “We continue to push through, it’s not easy for anybody but Mila is really resilient and inspires us every day.”
Mila Sneddon is 4-years old.
She has cancer.
To keep her safe during the Coronavirus pandemic her dad has been isolating away from her. For seven weeks — they haven't been able to hug.
Today they did.

We are all hoping that soon, Mila will be given the clean bill of health. This family has been tested but they kept their hands up and punching back. Nevertheless, we should all thank Mila for setting a good example of a strong-willed and faithful person, a toddler at that.
Get well soon, little Mila!
