Nothing could be more frightening than when a child was not being taken care of by the people that you trust their lives with.

Just like what happened with the kid who was left alone, with no adult companion, outside the school grounds before the school had opened.

The incident happened on January 18th, outside of Griggs Primary School in Aldine ISD.

A shocking video was released by the School District to make things clear about what really happened during that day.

Just 10 minutes before the school’s gate should have been opened, Joey, only 4 years old during the time of the incident, was dropped off by the daycare bus driver alone and unsupervised.

Eventually, 2 teachers arrived and helped Little Joey go inside the school premises.

The bus driver who was then employed at La Petite Daycare in Benmar Drive insisted that the kid was not abandoned.

Contrary to what the school’s camera had captured on that day.

It was only an alibi that was confirmed untrue.

Courtney McKenzie, a spokesperson from La Petite Academy, released a public statement that says, “Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our children.”

And after reviewing the video, she said, “The employee is no longer employed with LaPetite.”

Melissa Luna, the mother of Joey and a single mom, was interviewed by a local news agency after she saw the video.

“I was just in shock to see that video because I really trusted the daycare,” she said. “She didn’t think about my child’s safety, his life,” Melissa added.

She already found another daycare for Joey as she’s also taking care of his younger brother.

Melissa also shared that Joey shows signs of autism and remembers everything.

He told Melissa in Spanish about what really happened at school after he was dropped off alone prior to the school being opened.

Joey told his mom that he was left alone and the door was closed.

Melissa has made complaints to the Aldine ISD Police in the state regarding the matter.

The video on Youtube has already had more than a million views since its posting on January 23rd.

With thousands commenting who shared their concerns and their personal experiences in relation to what Joey has been through.

One user mentioned, “This hurts to watch. Anything could have happened to him. I’m so angry looking at this. We have to protect these kids.” Showing concern on the kid’s safety.

Another user commented, “I work in school, and believe me as a Mom myself all those kids are like my kids. That little boy left behind by himself just breaks my heart. Glad that bus driver was fired.”

We’re hoping that this incident will not happen to our children.

As this will surely stress parents out and make them panic.

The trust that Melissa gave to the daycare has long been shattered by what happened.

This should also be a lesson to the daycare employees, especially the bus drivers, to take good care of the children.

They should treat the kids as their own.
