Are you getting tired of finding something to keep you occupied during quarantine? You’ve probably exhausted all possibilities: cooking, de-cluttering, painting, making music, reading. And yet, you still find yourself bored during the day and even more restless because you can’t just head out and hang like you used to. Well, maybe rekindling that interest in your hobbies just needs a little involvement from someone.

In this girl’s case, it’s her dear old dad who was game enough to join her in learning different dances.

Brittany Revell of San Diego is loved by the Internet because the content she posts on TikTok are nothing but fun, sweet, and wholesome.

Her 61-year-old father is as loving and supportive as can be. Instead of hesitating to get up, learn the moves, and actually have it all recorded and shared online, Brittany’s dad very simply said, “Sure” when she asked him if he wanted to do a dance challenge.

“She’s been so patient with me. Thank goodness for all those retakes.”

In an online interview, the daddy-daughter duo share how it all began.

“It really just started during quarantine at our house. We were both spending a lot more time at home. One day I just went up to him and I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna do a dance challenge on TikTok?'”

You’ll be surprised at how quickly Brittany’s dad can pick up on the moves. If you’ve seen your fair share of TikTok dance videos, then you know just how complex and fast-paced some dance challenges can be.

He laughingly shares about the only dance experience he’s ever had.

“We have done a father and daughter recital when she was little.”

It takes a good-natured and fun-loving dad like Brittany’s to keep up!

He even encourages other dads to do the same.

“To a lot of dads out there that are a little apprehensive in not wanting to do it, I say, ‘Go for it!’ You know, you don’t have to be perfect.”

Their latest bonding activity is a great way to reconnect and spend more time together. Everyone knows it isn’t always easy for parents and their adult (or adolescent) children to communicate. Nor do they always see eye to eye on things. But activities like doing TikTok dance challenges together prove effective in bringing out creativity, promoting laughter, and even getting exercise!

Like what Brittany’s dad said, perfection shouldn’t be the goal. Just the mere fact that you get to try something new with your kids is already motivation and reward enough.

The 28-year-old also has some words of wisdom to impart.

“We really never know what’s gonna happen tomorrow so let’s just spend as much time as we can together, positive time together.”
