It is not uncommon for children to write Christmas Letters to Santa Claus.
Requests for toys or new clothes are on top of the list.
But rarely does it happen that a child’s letter to Santa goes viral.
This story is about a boy with a heartbreaking letter that touched the hearts of parents alike.
On December 18th, 2019, a letter was posted by SafeHaven on Tarrant County’s Facebook page.
This letter came from Blake, who was 7 years old back then.
His mother found it on his backpack a few weeks before it got posted on the page.
The message was so profound and sincere, that you can feel the child’s emotion pouring out from the words written on the piece of paper.
In the letter, Blake shared his ordeal together with his mom at the hands of his father.
He said, “Dear Santa, we had to leave our house. Dad was mad,” explaining the maltreatment and why the mother and child fled and went to the shelter for safety, where he would no longer be scared.
His mom could not take it anymore and decided they leave the house.
He further wrote, “I’m still nervous. I don’t want to talk to the other kids,” he said. “Are you going to come this Christmas? We don’t have any of our stuff here,” he explained to Santa.
They have fled from the house with only a few things in their bags.
He simply wanted chapter books, a Dictionary, a compass, and a watch.
Blake further wrote, “I also want a very very very good dad. Can you do that too?”
This statement was so heartbreaking that sharing it is the best way for people to know that situations like these are happening.
And kids like Blake need more love and affection.
It is never easy for any kid to experience such a shocking nightmare, not to mention this happened during the Christmas season.
Where children are meant to have the best time of their lives, together with their family and loved ones.
The shelter appreciated the donations and mentioned on the post that Blake got what he asked for from Santa.
But with other women and children needing shelter during the Holiday season, they encouraged people to send more help to make sure they have a safe place to stay throughout December.
The post got viral and was shared more than 2 thousand times on Facebook and gathered more than two thousand reactions.
One user shared their appreciation and commented, “Thank you for sharing Blake’s family Story and his letter. That letter to Santa brought tears to my eyes. Thank you and everyone that help Blake’s family.”
“Thank God for people like you bless you for your help,” said another Facebook user.
Though the last request for a very good dad is hard to find, we do still hope that Blake and his mom surpass this life’s trial and that they are back on their feet.
Start a new life with only the two of them, or better yet, a new loving dad that Blake wishes from the bottom of his heart.
