Kids are amazing. You can’t deny it. Their innocence and wonder in the world are just awe-inspiring. And even though they are as cute as can be – kids can be real jerks. They don’t mean to be, it’s just that they haven’t developed a filter or, you know, tact. They just tell it like they see it! And you’ve got to love them for that.
Here are 70 kids that told people the honest-to-goodness truth – whether you liked it or not.
Some of these comments are just brutal.
1) Don’t trust a word she says
This little girl seems to have a very interesting take on ‘beauty’. And because of that, she totally burned her aunt. We’re curious to know what type of person this little girl grows up to be.
In this hilarious tweet, a mom shares that her son’s classmate seems to think that he has two moms. That’s because she’s seen a ‘pretty’ one and the ‘other’ one. That little girl just doesn’t realize it’s the same person…just with and without makeup.
Well, thank goodness this mom isn’t a ‘different mom’ because it sounds like she’d get clocked in the face. You might want to watch for little Brooke out on the playground. She could get aggressive.
This poor mom suffered the blow of a brutally honest child. In this case, they really called out the blissful days of youth that are no longer in our grasp. Kids really know how to keep it one-hundred.
At 10-years-old, you’ve become pretty aware of how your parents operate – and this little girl is no exception. She’s quickly caught on to the fact that she’s defeated her mom if she hears that tell-tale sigh. The worst part? She’s not even a teenager yet.
Thanks to this little boy, his parents’ wedding photos will be hidden away forever. One day, he’ll grow up and like metal just like his daddy. Maybe he’ll even grow ‘girl hair’ too.
This little girl really has no filter when it comes to calling out people’s body parts. Whether this woman’s breasts are real or not, the girl’s comment about them is too hilarious. Did she really think they were basketballs?
This little kid was supposed to write an apology letter for something they did wrong. But this kid is a freaking rebel and apologizes for nothing. Watch out for this one.
9) Guess I’ll just burn this shirt now
Wesley has watched a little too much reality TV for his own good. He’s now become a full-on fashion critic thanks to ‘What Not to Wear’. But maybe he has found his calling?
In the span of 2 minutes, a kid’s mind can change about 57 times. In this case, peanut butter and mom took the brunt of it. We can see who rules this household.
The good news is, your daughter loves and adores you. The bad news is, you were just reminded that you’re not getting any younger. Those multiple chins when you look down are the dead giveaway to a child.
If this kid was a casting director for a play, he would have had no problem telling this woman to go home. At 6-years-old, he clearly doesn’t have a filter and this one stung a little bit.
13) Dad knows where he stands now
If dad had any hopes of getting back together with mom, they were all shattered by this one note from their kid. At least the rest of the note is really sweet? Ouch.
14) *starting a diet now*
This mom was simply making a casual statement to their kid when it completely backfired on them. Payton has been watching how much his mom eats and apparently? It’s a bit on the indulgent side.
So, kids only go to the bathroom when they’re bored? Or they just finally notice that they have to go to the bathroom once they’re bored? Either way, this is priceless.
Apparently, this 4-year-old wasn’t quite awake yet or has never seen their mommy with lipstick on before. Did she think some random stranger was bringing them groceries? Kids are too funny.
Was this 5-year-old really telling a compliment or was she giving a weird passive-aggressive insult disguised as a compliment? The fact that she even did an impression is really next-level. And brutal.
Yeah, yeah, thanks for the baby brother and all but this kid really wanted a puppy. Joyce dreamed of a furry new animal to play with, not this strange, tiny human who can’t walk or talk. What the heck happened?
Look, there are a lot of pretty girls out there, okay? And you just happen to be the prettiest one of the day. Tomorrow? Maybe not.
20) At least they didn’t complain?
This kid is actually pretty darn smart. They knew they would probably end up complaining, so they saved their dad some grief and just walked away. Well-played, kid. Well-played.
Explaining death to children is always an interesting topic. How will they take it? In this case, this little boy seemed to casually think it was about the order of the family tree. But did he have to look at him coldly while saying it? Scary.
22) Adorably complimentary
This little boy noticed that his dad had somewhat of a resemblance to President Barack Obama when he dressed up in a suit. Of course, they really had nothing else in common except skin color, but the observance was adorably naive.
Look, kids! We get it! We’re not as youthful and glowing as we once were. You know why? Because we’ve been through some stuff. Like, you know, becoming a parent and raising a child.
Pack your bags, parents! Because your child is sending you on the biggest guilt trip of your life! The crossed-out ‘love’ is the real kicker. We wonder what the scenario was here that prompted this note.
Kids, we appreciate your honesty, but, wow – sometimes? Maybe keep it to yourself. You could end up giving someone a real complex.
26) But beautiful nonetheless
It always feels good to get all dolled and glammed up for a big event. That is…until you come face-to-face with a child. Then, they make you question everything.
27) Because that makes sense!
Oh, little Rosemary. Her logic is absolutely adorable. For some reason, she thinks head transplants are apparently a very normal and understandable thing.
28) Other times? Not so much
Not always, but sometimes this kid loves their mom. We have a feeling they mean ‘like,’ but the note is just enough of a jab-in-the-gut to make mom feel…just okay.
It’s adorable that Berlyn thinks that the hair is ‘growing backwards’. However, what she doesn’t know, is that she just totally called out her dad’s receding hairline. The brutal honesty of a kid.
Brides are always looking stunning in their gowns with their makeup done and their hair styled. And in this 4-year-old’s eyes, whoever this person is that she’s looking at the day after is
not the bride she saw yesterday.
31) It’s amazing what makeup can do
Kids are super observant, so when they see the wonders that makeup can do, they tend to have some funny things to say about it. We just have to remember to teach them that makeup is just for fun and shouldn’t be used as a crutch.
Julian is mad and there is no way you can cheer him up. Not even with a sweet note from mom. In fact, he’ll even respond to that sweet note with his own blatant reply.
Hey, dad. You thought you could join in on the laughing? Think again. The joke’s on you.
Apparently, if mom is dressed up in nice clothes and makeup, it means that they have to get dressed and go somewhere too. Thankfully, they didn’t have to worry about it this time. However, the horror they showed is too funny.
This little girl’s vision of her mom really made an impact. It sounds like she thought very highly of her mother and we think that’s amazing. We’re so glad she kept it.
Poor mom. She just got totally thrown under the bus by her kid while dad is put on a pedastal. Sadly, this probably happens a lot. Don’t worry, we see you, moms!
Really, son? Really? It’s probably about time that you learn to know a little thing about…tact. Also, always tell mom she looks nice. Always.
I think we’re seeing what we need to do here. For the first few years of a child’s life, we can’t wear makeup around them. Otherwise, they get completely freaked out.
39) What is with kids and makeup?
Despite this woman’s bright red hair, these kids didn’t recognize her. Come on, guys. Are you really that unobservant? We thought the opposite but now you have us questioning.
This little kid’s note has us cracking up. A fart was blamed on them and they ‘supposedly’ didn’t do it. The blame was enough for them to want to pack up their bags and leave. P.S. You’re mean.
41) In case your head was getting too big
Just because they’re your kids and they love you, doesn’t mean they’re going to tell you want to hear. But hey, at least they’re honest. And we can always appreciate that. Plus, you still have a best friend.
To kids, hair equals gender. However, they’re quickly learning that it doesn’t. One kid seemed to have it straight and their short and simple explanation is adorable.
It’s not only kids that are thrown off by makeup – it’s young adults too, apparently. In fact, he’s friends with ‘no makeup’ girl and totally intimidated by ‘makeup girl’. It’s kind of cute.
44) Let them keep the hair
This note is too adorable not to respect their wishes. They don’t want a haircut and that’s very clear. Don’t you see those buckets of tears?
Remember those observant kids we were talking about earlier? Yep. Here’s another one. They’ve taken note of the butt-wiggle.
When this mom isn’t dressed up for a church occasion, she normally looks like a fake mom. Or at least that’s according to their son. Dress the part, mum.
At 41-years-old, hearing that you look like a grandma isn’t exactly the most amazing compliment in the world. Not that there’s anything wrong with grandmas, we’re just sure she was hoping she had a couple more decades, maybe.
See this bowl of cookies and candies? Mom and Eric need to stay away. Sounds like you both have a bit of a self-control problem, according to this kid anyway.
49) 4-year-old observations
This little girl is willing to admit when she sees a cute face. But that breath? You better get a mint or gum or something.
50) No recognition at all?
You’re telling me that this kid has NO idea that person in the photo is his mom just because she’s not wearing makeup? Wow. Makeup really is deceiving!
What makes this comment so sweet is that this 4-year-old really meant this as a compliment. They love cuddling up on their mom’s arm, and despite the unintended insult, it really is adorable. Savor those moments.
52) Let’s keep this on the down-low
We are pretty much speechless at this kid’s confession. Let’s just never let the neighbor see this so you don’t have to have a very awkward apology. Yikes.
Feeling on top of the world? Let a 10-year-old bring you back down to reality with just one comment. And let’s face it, they’re probably right.
This kid has a hilarious view of ‘moms’ and them being the enforcement of all rules. The fact that one of his best friends had two moms was an absolutely terrifying thought to him. It’s like jail at that household!
Dads are always dads in kids’ eyes it seems. But moms? There are multiple versions. Glammed up mom and regular mom. And it’s important that they differentiate.
Whatever parent is going to do the grocery shopping next needs to take note. This juice tastes nasty. Maybe try a different flavor next time?
57) Don’t get too comfortable
Right now? You’re this kid’s favorite person. Tomorrow? Who knows? It all depends on how awesome you remain or if someone more awesome comes along.
What kids don’t know is that they’re going to get wrinkly and gray too. So, parents, you can just sit in peace knowing that one day…they’ll finally understand. Until then? You’ll get comments like these.
59) The ‘Big Meeting’ look
Kids catch on quickly as to when moms do and do not wear makeup and the reasons why. In this case, it’s usually a big meeting at work. And they called mom out on it.
60) It’s a non-emotional family
There are some families that just aren’t into showing many emotions and it seems like this kid belongs to one of them. When times get tough? Just suck it up!
61) Wait…which one is it?
Kids have a wonderful way of making you feel like the most amazing person on the planet and then in the next breath, bring you right back down to earth to remind you who you really are. Here is our case in point. Savage.
It’s actually really adorable that this little girl always draws a baby brother into their family pictures. Who knows? It could end up being a foreshadowing!
At least this kid an admit that they don’t contribute anything to the household monetarily. And they also don’t get an allowance either. But hey! Free lodging and food? Sounds like a good deal.
Poor Sam’s mom. She just got totally insulted right to her face by a 10-year-old who had no idea they were doing it. Sometimes their honesty is just a bit too much.
Kids don’t seem to deal with change very easily. Especially when that change has anything to do with grandma. And it turns out that this grandson isn’t a fan of her going blonde.
In a display for their class, the kids had to draw mom doing something they like. In this case, it was drinking wine. We have a feeling this might not be the only similar picture like this in the class.
Here, we have yet another case of total makeup confusion. Even though the 5-year-old has seen Mary before, they aren’t convinced it’s her. So they had to reintroduce themselves.
This sweet kid is just letting their parents know that they’ll be running away at 9:30 pm sharp. They’ll start to pack beforehand. You know, in case you want to help and say goodbye.
It’s not just moms that get the wrath of kids’ honesty. Dads get it too. And in this case, a shaved mustached warranted a terrifying response. They thought a stranger was in their house.
70) They just need some time
Sometimes you just need a little space when you’re feeling upset. It doesn’t mean you’ve stopped loving someone. You just need some time to process.
