Hide-and-seek is a challenging game. Apart from finding the best hiding spot, kids also need to be able to wait patiently and stay still until they are found or the seeker gives up. Honestly, it’s an exciting experience.
However, not all kids are fully aware of how the game is played. Some of them don’t even know what makes a good hiding spot or how to actually hide. And there are kids who don’t even know how to play the game.
Here ar 70 kids who seriously fail at playing hide-and-seek.
1. Shadow
When you are playing hide and seek, there are two things you have to be careful of- blue socks and sunsets. This kid nearly won the game if it weren’t for his shadow and those tiny socks.
2. Those chubby legs
A couch isn’t supposed to have chubby legs. I’m probably imagining things here.
3. Commitment
See that dedication? Clearly, that kid deserves an award. He’s staying still as if no one can see him.
4. Those tiny feet
The open cabinet was a good decoy. Unfortunately, those white socks gave her away. If only the kid wore dark-colored socks, she could have won the game.
5. Hard to miss
Toy or not, I’m pretty sure alligators aren’t supposed to be standing up. And even if they could, I don’t think they’d be happy to have a tiny kid help them out.
6. Behind the pole
When kids can’t see you, they think that you won’t be able to see them. This photo proves that.
7. Mini heart attack
This kid isn’t just a pro at hide-and-seek. She seemed to be an expert in scaring people, too.
8. Ghosts!
These kids decided that the best hiding spot in their home is in the middle of the kitchen. Since there’s no space for them to hide there, they just made one using a blanket.
9. Behind the tree
This kid used to be a pro at hide-and-seek. That’s until the tree decided to betray him.
10. One with the toys
This is one of the best things about having lots of toys. You can actually use them as part of your camouflage when you’re playing hide-and-seek. Just make sure that you have your entire body hidden.
11. A little help
Looking at those books, this kid clearly got some help getting into that spot. Nonetheless, it doesn’t make her any less of a champion.
12. Inseparable
Some kids are inseparable. They even apply the idea when they’re playing games. Well, who are parents to complain? It makes finding children so much easier.
13. Almost perfect
This is what happens when you run out of time. You just hide yourself the best way you can with whatever you can grab with your hands.
14. Nailed it!
He’s doing an awesome job. I nearly missed him if it wasn’t for his head. Next time, mom should get a longer cabinet.
15. Weird tactic
It’s hard to understand kids’ logic when it comes to hide-and-seek. Well, I guess the element of surprise is what makes the game fun.
16. Sleeping or hiding?
This kid isn’t just great at hiding. It’s safe to say that he’s good in pretending, too. He’s probably using the same technique for nap time.
17. Creepy but effective
No, you’re not seeing things. That’s clearly a kid hiding inside a cabinet and he’s found the best spot. Even his parent had a hard time finding him.
18. Inside a box
This parent has a good sense of self-control. If I were her, I’d probably tickled this kid’s feet until he comes out of his little box.
19. What’s he doing?
This is a bit hard to explain to the neighbors. I mean, just look at the kid. He doesn’t even look like he’s hiding.
20. Trying to blend in
Having the same color doesn’t mean you’re blending in. Sometimes, it can also make you stand out from your environment.
21. The new lampshade
Creative but not effective. Who puts a lampshade in the middle of the doorway? If he moved a bit to his left, it would have worked.
22. Underneath the plastic box
I would have probably screamed if I saw my kid like that. It looked like there’s been an accident and the plastic box fell on top of him.
23. Fail
No matter how good you are in hiding, you won’t win if there’s a mirror around. Find a different spot or move the mirror.
24. No clue
This kid may not be that good in hiding but she’s definitely a pro in looking adorable. I’d probably just play along if this was my child.
25. Innovative
This little girl is quite clever. She found a good hiding spot and the perfect camouflage to hide.
26. Expert level
Her parents probably took longer than they’re supposed to in locating her. She actually fell asleep in her hiding spot. Poor kid.
27. Scary
This photo looks like it’s been taken out of a horror movie. I’d get nightmares just from looking at it.
28. Like a cat
This kid thinks like a cat. If he fits, he sits. It’s quite funny how her bum is sticking out like that.
29. A 2-year-old
This is probably one of the reasons why you shouldn’t play hide-and-seek with 2-year-old kids. Apart from the fact that they are good, they are also great in finding the creepiest hiding spots.
30. Room for improvement
Container? Check. Cover? Check. This is nearly an effective hiding spot, except for the fact that you can actually see through the cover.
31. Beginner
This kid still has a lot of things to learn about the game. He’s clearly clueless about how it works.
32. Except for the legs
When you’re playing hide-and-seek, you’re supposed to hide your entire body. This kid needs more hours of practice since she missed the legs.
33. Giggles
This kid wasn’t found because of the way she’s hiding. She was found because she was giggling so hard.
34. Inside the basket
I hope that the laundry basket was empty before this kid jumped into it. Otherwise, he might not be able to stay there for a long time because of the smell.
35. Not a bad spot
Honestly, I think it’s a good hiding spot. You won’t be able to see the kid without moving the couch.
36. No challenge
When you run out of ideas, you just put a Lego box on your head. It may not make the game challenging, but you’ll surely find it entertaining.
37. A for effort
It must have been challenging for that kid to get inside that bag. Considering that his parents took a minute to find him, I’d say the hard work was worth it.
38. Still
This kid was found in the middle of the room completely immobile. I guess that’s what hide-and-seek means to her.
39. Wrong game
I don’t think this kid has the right game in mind. She looks like she’s playing peek-a-boo instead of hide-and-seek.
40. No expectations
His parents’ hearts are all set. Seeing how their kid hides, they’re sure that he won’t be winning any hide-and-seek games soon. Well, the lower the expectations, the better, right?
41. Fail
This kid had the right idea. He just needed some help with the execution.
42. Not moving
I think this kid might have a chance at wining since he’s playing with another kid. If he stay still, he might come out as the champion.
43. Level: Difficult
It was a good thing that kids are flexible. If adults were to do this, they might end up with severe back and shoulder pain.
44. Shame
I’d probably hide my face as well if my friends find me hiding this way. It’s embarrassing.
45. Too slow
This is what happens when you don’t move fast during a game. You’ll get caught even before you get to hide.
46. Surprised
He was found even before he got time to close the cabinet’s door. The funny part? He actually looked surprised.
47. Costume
I guess your costume plays a critical role in your success in the game. An example: wearing a tutu won’t make you look less noticeable.
48. Is he even hiding?
I think this kid was using reverse psychology. Instead of hiding in a discreet area, he actually chose to hide under this table where someone was clearly doing some work.
49. Behind the blinds
The type of curtain you have at home doesn’t matter. If it doesn’t completely cover the body, it won’t be effective. So, it’s either you teach your kids how to find good hiding spots or you invest in long curtains.
50. Not enough
No matter how hard this kid try, she won’t win. That fabric is too thin for her.
51. A tree
This kid is trying to hide himself by pretending to be a tree. Lesson? If you can’t find a good hiding spot, you turn yourself into one.
52. Miscalculation
When you’re looking for the best hiding spot, you have to consider your size. You need to make sure you can actually fit. Otherwise, you’ll end up looking like this.
53. Good job
This kid didn’t just find the perfect spot. He was able to utilize the elements in his environment, too. The shadow helped a lot.
54. Choices
He could have chosen the trash bins behind him. However, for some reason, the kid chose to hide behind the tree.
55. The red dress
It’s hard not to notice this little girl. That red dress was all she needed to be found.
56. How
The flexibility of a child’s body is amusing. In some cases, it’s baffling, too.
57. Hiding or looking for something?
At first glance, you might think that this kid is looking for something. In reality, he’s just trying his best to fit there and hide.
58. Trick
This just proves that you don’t always have to completely hide yourself to win the game. Sometimes, all you need to do is trick the eyes.
59. A foot
To win a game, you have to be careful about every detail. One tiny mistake can make you lose. In this case, it’s the little girl’s tiny foot.
60. Hard to miss
She found a good spot. The only problem was that she was too big for it.
61. Too obvious
She thought she found the best spot to hide. She was quite surprised when her parent managed to find her.
62. Daily game
Each time their dad’s car pull over to their garage, these kids hide. His last job for the day is to find them.
63. Glass
Don’t laugh at the kid. After all, tables are not usually made with glass.
64. Hiding inside cabinets
Some kids aren’t aware of how cabinets work. If they try to hide inside one, this is what happens.
65. Tricky
I’m pretty sure you had a hard time finding the kid, too. It took me a couple of seconds to locate him in this photo.
66. Almost
Shoes aren’t supposed to be stored in cabinets for clothes. It was a clear hint.
67. Under the table
Under the table is one of the most common hiding spots for kids. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work all the time.
68. One of the gifts
Children are gifts. Considering that, I think this kid could get away with this.
69. Too hard
Learning how to play the piano isn’t that easy. It’s probably the reason why this kid is hiding behind one.
70. Pink socks
The key to winning the game is to blend as much as possible with the environment. If those socks were white, they could have been easier to hide.
