Folks… it’s that time of year again! Where parents delight in torturing their children at the behest of late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
For seven years, Jimmy Kimmel Live has been getting parents to trick their children into believing that they are horrible enough to commit an unspeakable act.
Eating ALL of their Halloween candy.
Each year right after Halloween night Kimmel asks parents to send in video clips of them telling their children that they ate all of their Halloween candy and that there is none left.
He picks the best ones to feature on his show. And every single year, these clips do not disappoint.
This year’s reactions were just as hilarious as any other ranging from tears, rage, profanity, violence, and sometimes forgiveness. Jimmy Kimmel Live got more submissions this year than they’ve ever had before.
I guess parents just love to torture their kids in a lighthearted fun sort of way. Maybe it’s their way of getting even!
This year guest host Jennifer Lawrence presented the famous annual compilation and it was as hilarious as ever.
“Once again those evil parents delivered in a huge and bigly way,” Lawrence said introducing the video on the show.
I love the first parent’s set up!
“Remember how we went Trick-or-Treating last night?” she tells her little son and daughter. “Guess what? Mommy and daddy got so hungry we ate all of it.”
The eldest daughter starts crying, then shrieking.
Her younger son doesn’t seem to have a full grasp of what she’s saying but his sister is crying so he starts crying too. You can see the part where it finally dawns on him and he starts a high-pitched scream.
The next is THE most adorable little girl holding an empty pink pumpkin basket.
“No! Spit it out,” she begs her mom. “Spit it out of your tummy.”
The next mother really digs it in deep. Not only does she tell him that she ate all his candy. but she starts rattling off the different names of all the candy she ate.
“There was M&M’s,” she said. “There was this big bar.”
Her son screams a primal scream after every candy description finally begging, “Stop telling me what you ate!”
“You’re selfish,” another little boy says to his dad which actually sounds like he’s saying “shellfish.”
One kid doesn’t say a word. He just walks away and flips his mom the bird.
“Yup, and that’s why I don’t love you anymore,” another child calmly tells him mother.
Aside from all the screaming, tears, threats to beat up Jimmy Kimmel, and one dad getting punched in the stomach. Not all of the kids were upset.
“It’s fine, that’s OK,” one sweet little boy tells his mom. “You can do whatever you want.”
“I forgive you,” another says.
