The best thing about the holidays is the fact that we get to spend meaningful time celebrating life with family and friends.
So, it can be really tough when you are separated from your loved ones during these times.
Especially, when you or they are serving in the Armed Forces away from the safety and comfort of family. Airman Mike Ciuffoletti wasn’t about to spend Christmas away from his family.

So, he snuck away from his military base to give his family the best present they could possibly get: him home for Christmas.
At this point, Mike’s family was under the impression that he wouldn’t be home for Christmas.
The news was terribly upsetting to them because their Christmas family celebration wouldn’t be the same without him.

So, you could imagine what their reaction was like when he randomly showed up.
It was such a powerful reaction that more than 13 million people watched the surprise homecoming on YouTube.
Mike carried out his plan with the help of his friend Clark.
When Mike walked into his home with a huge grin on his face, Clark was right behind him filming.
Mike just casually walked into his family’s home as they were making Christmas dinner like they knew he was going to be there.
Since they didn’t, the entire family was pretty much screaming, crying, or both when they laid eyes on him.
The video shows Mark briskly walking up to his family’s beautifully decorated home in full uniform.
He swings the door wide open into a home bustling with sound and activity.
“Uh oh, someone yells,” as Mike turns the corner into the kitchen.
My favorite is the woman in the pink shirt’s face.
Her jaw completely drops as he walks in.
She and another blonde woman start to scream, as a third blonde woman breaks down in tears.
“Oh my God, oh my God,” one of the women start squealing.
Mike immediately goes to hug the weeping woman and then the rest of the women in the immediate area.
“Get in here,” one of the women yell out to Mike’s dad who was standing outside.
Dad takes off his jacket and walks inside.
He shakes his head in disbelief as he looks at his son.
His expression soon turns to one of excitement.
He then wipes away some tears as he walks over to his son who is hugging a woman that is just beaming at his presence.
Mike finally makes it over to his dad and gives him the biggest hug ever.
Dad holds him a good long while and seems as if he doesn’t want to let his son go.
“Oh, Clark… come here,” one of the women says acknowledging the cameraman.
The rest of the family is just standing around asking each other if they knew about the surprise. There was one person who confessing of being in on it.
We then see Mike in tears as a man who is truly happy to be home and with the ones he loves.
He then apologizes for giving everyone a shock.
The video ends with Clark the cameraman getting a few hugs from the family. It’s a beautiful video that truly reminds us of just how important we all are to each other. Check it out below.
