Parents pick up baby from daycare only to find him covered in bite marks
And the daycare claimed they just didn't notice.

As a parent, our priority is to protect our children – no matter the cost.

If we need to work or go to school, we do our best to screen possible daycare centers that we can trust with our children.

We pay for their services and trust that they will take care of our children while we’re out.

What Victoria Marie Delgado and Francisco Rivas experienced at a daycare center in South W.W. White Road Texas was nothing short of a nightmare.

It was March 1, at around 4 p.m., Rivas, Noah’s father, went to Eman Tot Academy to pick up his son from daycare.

Before they left, Rivas saw two weird marks on his son’s arms.

Because the little boy was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, his father saw the bites immediately. According to Rivas, the bites were very visible.

“They were red, puffy. His dad questioned, ‘Are those bites?’ And the lady that brought him out was like, ‘Oh my God, those are bites,’” Delgado said in an interview with KENS 5.

Upon seeing the bite marks, the employee went back to one of the main offices and after a few minutes, returned to talk to Rivas.

The employee said there was no report of any incident, and that they were clueless as to what had happened to Noah.

She also said that they were short-staffed and that the best thing they could do was to give Rivas an incident report the day after since it should be the teacher who should fill out the incident form.

Rivas felt something was off with the way they talked to him, but since he didn’t want to make a scene, he agreed and went home.

Upon arriving home, the worried father washed the wounds and applied ice. He waited for his partner to come home.

Later, as Delgado held her infant son, she decided to examine him further. He sat little Noah on the bathroom counter and she gasped.

“I took off his shirt. Good thing the mirror was behind him. When I was pulling up his shirt, I saw on the reflection the six bites on his back,” said Delgado.

She tried her best not to cry, but her heart felt like it was going to explode.

Her little son, her baby boy, had so many bite marks on his back, and some had broken skin.

Noah was just a year old. He couldn’t speak, complain, or defend himself.

Now, according to state policy, it is required for a childcare facility to file an incident report if one of the children in their care gets an injury.

Also, part of their responsibility, they need to notify the parents as soon as they arrive to pick up the child.

“Them changing him, feeding him, they didn’t see those visible bites all day?” said Rivas. “They didn’t call us and ask, ‘Hey did your son have bites?’”

Delgado recalled talking to the director and how she was so apologetic and promised to do her best to investigate.

The family, on the other hand, brought little Noah to the ER, where the doctor prescribed him antibiotics.

“The doctor did say that they are child bites,” Delgado added.

Unfortunately, the daycare wasn’t cooperative. No callbacks, and no efforts.

On Thursday, March 2, Noah’s grandfather went to the daycare and decided to record his conversation with the person in charge.

“One bite or two, but eight? That’s neglect and abuse,” the grandfather expressed his disappointment.

“There was nothing that we’ve seen on the cameras,” the employee said. “We even had our state person that just left from here to review it and there was nothing seen on there.”

They didn’t do anything about it. Just like that, the family of Noah felt that they needed justice.

This is why Delgado filed her report with SAPD, located at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. She also reported the daycare to CPS.

Since the incident, Noah has been transferred to a new daycare center, and the investigation is still ongoing.
