One of the best things about babies is that you can never quite predict how they’re going to act. Everything is new and exciting for them, and it’s amazing to watch them experiencing things for the very first time and watching to see how they react.
It’s always fun, for example, to play or sing some music and see how an infant responds, and one mom discovered that her baby boy can get very, very emotional whenever she sings any opera.
She recorded a little ‘experiment’ and uploaded it to her personal YouTube for us all to enjoy.
Mom Jennifer Stavropoulos introduces the video, holding her baby, George, in her arms and sitting on the sofa.
She calls George “super happy all the time,” adding that he loves to hear her sing pretty much anything.
As an example, she starts singing “Everybody clap! Clap clap clap!” and watches as George happily claps along, smiling up at his mama joyfully.
And to show that little George really does love every kind of song, Jennifer than shows how much he enjoys heavy metal!
She starts growling some crazy lyrics in quite a scary voice, something that would probably frighten most infants, but George doesn’t seem scared at all.
Instead, the little one grins and starts laughing along with his mother.
Jennifer then shows us how George responds to opera, saying how he gets “super emotional and upset”.
To prove her point, she begins a beautiful rendition of Ave Maria.
Right from the very first note, George’s smile disappears and the poor little guy starts to cry!
From there, George’s facial expression turns to one of total misery.
His smile turns upside down and his little lips begin to tremble as his mom continues to sing.
For a while, it looks like he’s trying to hold back the tears and be strong enough to face the music, but eventually, he gives in and begins to cry all over again.
Ave Maria, which is the Latin name for a Hail Mary prayer, was originally composed as ‘Ellen’s Third Song’ by Franz Schubert back in 1825.
It’s been performed and recorded countless times over the years, with various different versions and variants.
It’s always a powerful and moving song to listen to, and it seems like little George, despite his age, has a very mature understanding of music.
Eventually, Jennifer just can’t see her little boy so upset any more and decides to end the song, apologizing to George and giving him a little kiss.
The baby boy immediately calms down once the opera is over, and his mom decides to sing a little more of her heavy metal in order to cheer him right back up!
Little George looks so happy to hear his favorite hardcore tune once more and begins to smile and laugh along.
Over 600,000 people have watched the funny video so far, with many commenting on how cute George is and some saying he must be very in touch with his emotions to react so differently to each style of music.
