Sleep. The one thing so essential that it affects our overall health and well being. Mental, physical, emotional health, and even your lifestyle will suffer without it. Now some people can stay up really late while others prefer to sleep as long as possible.

But as you get older, sleep isn’t always easy. Anxiety, stress, and a myriad of other issues could keep you up all night.

Not this baby.

His name is Seth. This baby has a head full of hair. Amazing! But the little guy is getting fussy and can’t seem to sleep no matter how hard he tries. Where babies get fussy and cry, we get cranky and frustrated. Life.

But Seth doesn’t need milk or nursery rhymes. How does he fall asleep? Well check this out.

Grab a tissue.

No, really. Australian father Nathan Dailo begins swiping tissue really gently on his baby’s face. Soft, gentle strokes at every second and you can see how those eyes begin to droop. After the tenth pass, the little guy is knocked out!

For some reason, it worked. Putting a baby to sleep is a heck of a challenge. Parents out there would agree.

No singing required.

Dailo cautions that it doesn’t work for everyone.

“Remember that each child is different, and what works for some parents may not work for others. And always use your instincts. You are the parent.”

He goes on saying,

“The tissue trick isn’t actually anything special. Any light touching on the baby’s facial areas such as the head, forehead, or the bridge of the nose also works.”

It’s worth a shot though.

Sleepy Seth.

The little bundle of cuteness was out for the count in under a minute. Six to twelve gentle tissue touches made sure of that. No music, no singing, no rocking the baby, no need to drive around. Seth just went ahead and dozed off!

If you’re suddenly curious as to if it really works and if many other parents tried the tissue trick, don’t worry, we are too.

Which means dad can sleep.

Parents lose a whole lot of sleep when there’s a baby. And while they will do anything and everything for the little one, mom and dad need to recharge too. Well Nathan Dailo found a cheat code with a Kleenex. He gets more shut eye when Seth sleeps!

Here’s a mental note for you. If your significant other is having a hard time falling asleep then maybe try the tissue technique.

Babies will need around 12-16 hours a day. As a matter of fact, they will sleep that much. The proper challenge is putting them to sleep. For new parents, this is where it gets interesting. Time to find out who’s a natural at it!

Was dad a natural? Who knows? But he did find a very cool trick. Who would have thought that tissue could help jump start that snooze setting? He is either a genius or a magician. Or he just got curious then lucky. Snoozing Seth got sent off to dreamland though. Great way to advertise Kleenex!
