A mom on YouTube was shocked recently when her adorable baby daughter showered her in smooches while her husband was filming. It was a hilarious display of affection that the Internet won’t soon forget and neither will the family. To date, the heartwarming clip has been viewed over six million times.
The video begins with the mom looking at her goofy daughter to see what she is about to do.
It’s clear that the baby is having a lot of fun. She couldn’t be more than a few months old and she is still learning about how the world works. Everything is completely new to her and you can see her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she looks around the room.
The baby makes some exclamations of excitement that result in a spray of saliva flying straight at Mom’s face.
“You just slobbered all over me!” jokes the mom.
It appears as though the little girl knows what the word slobber means already because as soon as she hears it, she starts to giggle.
The mom appears to know what’s coming too.
She stares her daughter down with a big smile on her face. That’s when it happens.
The baby girl immediately lunges at her mom to bombard her with a barrage of kisses — big, wet, kisses.
Everyone in the room cracks up with laughter, including Dad, the cameraman, He’s watching from the behind the scenes.
“That’s crazy,” says the dad. “Is that a beso?”
Beso is the word for kiss in Spanish. The baby totally understands.
It’s clear that the lucky little girl is going to grow up to be bilingual too! A study from 2017 conducted by a team of researchers at Princeton reports that by 20 months old, babies are fully capable of processing two different languages.
What that means is that while they can recognize the words from two different languages before that age, for example, “kiss” and “beso”, the babies aren’t fully aware of the fact that they are two distinct languages yet.
It’s likely that this is what is happening in this case too.
The baby girl probably assumes that they are just two different versions of the same thing. She knows that her mom gives her kisses and besos quite often. In addition, she knows that when she does the kissing movement with her mouth back and attacks her mom’s cheek in the same manner, it makes both of her parents laugh.
The baby loves it!
Although, it does sometimes appear as though she is trying to eat her mom’s cheek off, instead of kiss her.
That’s okay though, she is still learning.
She might not know a lot about life yet, but she sure is hilarious.
As a baby, making people smile is one of the first things that she figured out how to do.
Over and over again, she lunges as her mom, giving her a series of sloppy kisses, sound effects included.
However, when the mom asks for a real, polite kiss, the girl proves that she is able to do that too.
She leans in slowly and gives her mom a little gentle peck on the cheek. It’s adorable.
“Ah, thank you,” says the mom as she gives the daughter a little hug back. “That was a good baby”.
It’s clear that this is one family that loves each other very much.
