It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Right after Halloween when stores are decked out to the 9s in festive decor, playing holiday music that makes you happily skip through their aisles.
It’s hard not to smile when you see twinkling lights, bright green Christmas trees, and sparkling ornaments.
For some reason, the Christmas season has the magic power to make us feel true joy. It gives us all the feels!
Mick Law, a toddler from Mapleton, Utah who is as cute as can be, is basically all of us when we walk into a store during Christmas time.
His mother, Hannah Law, took of video of her son going down the Chrismas aisle at a Costco on Oct. 25 and his reaction is ridiculously adorable.
“This is Mick when he sees Christmas decorations,” she wrote on Facebook.
The baby is overcome with joy and is in awe as his mother wheels him around in a shopping cart while he stares at the animated decor and shiny decorations.
He “Ohs” and “Whoas” and giggles with delight at all the festive things he sees. He literally loses it in the best way as he’s being wheeled around and it’s the cutest thing.
And just like the rest of us, he gets extra excited when he finally spots Santa.
Law said she decided to share the video with the world so that people can share in Mick’s joy and because she was “spreading some Christmas cheer.
And she surely succeeded! The video got more than 10 million on the Love What Matters Facebook page.
“I can’t stop watching this!!!!” wrote one commenter on Facebook.
“This has come up in my feed like 15 times and I’ve watched it all the way through every time,” said another.
“What a beautiful reminder to enjoy the seemingly simple things of life! The joy of a child is so pure! Love this!!” and another.
“He’s so stinkin’ cute!!!” and another!
And they aren’t lying. This baby is so darn cute it’s almost painful. We can’t think of anything more beautiful than a child’s joy.
Research shows that babies are hardwired to enjoy Christmas decor because of the bold colors and sparkles.
“Young children only really detect bold, primary colors; they probably discern reds and greens best, followed by blues and yellows,” says Dr. Lise Eliot told Parents.
“Shiny, sparkly things do catch a baby’s attention,” Dr. Tanya Remer also told the magazine.
Well, that may explain why babies love Christmas so much, but not us older folk.
Maybe it’s just our inner child coming to the surface, but we when it comes to welcoming in the Christmas season we say bring it on!
