If you ever want to feel like a comedy genius, just have a baby. Babies will pretty much laugh at anything remotely silly, and they tend to be pretty easy to please.
Making your baby laugh doesn’t just brighten family life – it also encourages your child’s sense of humor, according to science.
Laughing together is great for connection, and can even make children smarter and healthier.
Did you know that babies with a sense of humor are more likely to be playful and spontaneous when they grow up? They’re also less likely to take themselves too seriously.
Luckily, no parent feels like making their baby laugh is a chore, so it’s something they’ll get plenty of practice at.
There’s nothing more enjoyable than watching your child giggle and gurgle, especially when it’s at your funny antics.
And some would argue that, while babies respond well to any parent’s humor attempts, dads tend to be the funniest in their little one’s eyes.

The context is simple: Daddy has got hold of a vacuum extender tube and is blowing into it.
It’s not quite the level of sophisticated humor that would make another adult laugh, but baby Isaac finds the situation hilarious.
The video was posted by Isaac’s mom, Laura G, way back in 2011, when Isaac was just shy of 8 months old.
She probably never expected that her little family video would go viral, with more than 3,000 views and counting!
When the recording starts, both dad and Isaac are sat on the floor in the family living room.
There are toys scattered around in the background, but Isaac doesn’t need them for entertainment today – not when he’s got his daddy.
As dad blows through the vacuum extender tube, it makes a noise a bit like a motorbike engine failing to start.
This is not the sort of thing that most of us would enjoy hearing in our homes – but there are exceptions when you have a baby!
To Isaac, the fact that his daddy can make such bizarre sounds using just a part of a vacuum is hilarious.
He doesn’t just giggle half-heartedly – this is a full-on cackle. We’re surprised he even manages to stay sitting up, he’s laughing so much.
Dad pulls the tube away from his mouth and asks his son,
“Do you like that?”
Isaac continues to cackle with laughter, so dad takes that as a sign to continue. He toots through the tube, lifting it around Isaac’s head, while the little boy squeals and guffaws.
We promise you, you haven’t seen a baby laugh this hard in a long time!
By this point, both mom and dad are laughing too, while Isaac climbs onto dad’s knee and attempts to take the tube off him.
The video is only 30 seconds long, but the pure joy on Isaac’s face is what has undoubtedly made it such an internet favorite.
Impossibly, baby Isaac will now be nearing 10 years of age, and we’re not sure he’d still be laughing quite so heartily at his dad’s antics today!
