Not all conversations with your child are easy, nor are the topics always fun. However, teaching is part of parenting and we all want our kids to turn into well-rounded adults.
On the other hand, sometimes it’s the little conversations together that become the most memorable of all. Whether you’re discussing with your toddler why the sky’s blue, or having a chat with your teen who’s excited about a new video game – it’s these moments that stick with a parent forever.
One dad had a beautiful “conversation” with his son who was only a few months old. Fortunately, mom was able to capture it on film, and it’s since been melting the internet’s heart.
When you’re in the “baby stage” of parenting it can seem stressful at times. Between diapers, lack of sleep, and being unsure why your little one’s upset – it’s no wonder too! But really, it goes way too fast…
For many, it feels like a flash that a baby goes from being a newborn, to mobile and vocal. An enjoyable stage that falls in between is when they’re discovering their voice.
The adorable baby in the video is four-months-old and has a lot to say! His name is Nash, and he’s sitting up in his daddy’s lap so they can “shoot the breeze.”
Nash goes off on a string of coos and babbles that are simply precious.
The baby starts out “talking” to mom until she says – “Tell daddy.” He then turns his focus to dad and talks to him face to face. Dad lovingly chats back with his son using a soft voice that encourages the baby to keep going. Let’s just say it’s cuteness overload!
The clip takes another delightful turn when they begin talking about “archery.”
Nash positions his arms in a way that it looks like he’s going to shoot a bow and arrow. This is what starts them on the topic, leading dad to question his son what kind of animal he’s hunting! The baby seems excited and coos back.
Pediatrician and host of the “Parenting Matters” podcast, Phil Boucher, explained to TODAY:
“The first semblances of language are coos and things like that, which are intentional, since they are using the back of the throat versus the tongue, and they are the first noises that a baby will make purposefully and realize, ‘Oh, if I coo, my parent smiles at me.”
It’s a simple video that’s so sweet it’s won over the internet. Not only will Nash’s parents always cherish it – but it’s pulling on heartstrings with every view.
A woman named Ann commented:
“Oh my goodness parents. He’s the cutest and sweetest baby ever. I smiled the whole time. I could watch alot of lil Nash”
The scene will likely beam a lot of parents back to the days their kids were babies. Another viewer named Miss Elmyra was reminded of her grandchild.
