Many people would be a tad offended if someone made it obvious that their baby had a favorite parent – and it wasn’t them.
But sometimes, as in this case, the facts don’t lie.
If dad walking in the door is a clear highlight of your baby’s day, you might just have to admit that he has the number one spot in your little one’s heart.
In case you need examples of what constitutes as baby appreciation, look for squealing, babbling, and perhaps some quirky dance moves.
Your baby probably gets excited to see you after spending the day with grandma, but nothing quite does it like dad.
One little boy clearly has a soft spot for his daddy – and when dad comes home from work, his son’s face says it all.
The baby in question stars in a YouTube video from way back in 2014, which has more than 100,000 views to this date.
Filmed by mom, the video was shared by Jonathan Senigaglia, presumably the little boy’s dad.
The video is short, simple and sweet – mom holds her son while he giggles excitedly at daddy, who’s just off-camera.
It’s impossible to understand the baby’s gurgled attempts at words, but we’re certain he’s welcoming his daddy home in the friendliest way possible!
Dad nuzzles his nose against his son’s, while the little boy smiles and giggles adorably.
Then mom hands her son over to dad, and the two boys have some fun.
Dad lifts his little boy high over his head, making him giggle. Is there anything cuter than a dad playing with his child? We’d say no.
Jonathan has shared a few other videos of his little boy, who is called Jack, and, by the looks of things, loves music, singing, and exploring the world with his parents.
While the other videos are pretty cute, nothing beats the one of Jack having some quality bonding time with dad.
There’s clearly a lot of love between the pair, and the video is truly heartwarming to watch.
In case you were wondering, there’s no scientific evidence to say that babies prefer their dads to their moms.
Actually, there’s more research in favor of babies preferring their moms, who tend to be the primary caregivers.
But to most babies, dads represent the greatest potential for fun, excitement, and silly playtime.
Moms can play with their babies as well as anyone, but dads can lower themselves to levels of childish silliness that babies absolutely adore.
And while moms can get a little anxious and tired after a day of looking after their bub, dads, who usually can’t stay off work to raise a child like moms do, can often take over with renewed enthusiasm.
Jonathan simply captioned the video: “I wish I could bottle that laugh”.
Any parent will relate – there’s nothing more precious than an adorable little baby gurgle.
It’s crazy to think, though, that with this video being posted six years ago, the baby in this video will now be nearing 7 years old.
He certainly won’t be baby-laughing anymore, but he’s still at a cute age – just wait until he hits his teens!
