Why is Michael so popular, you might ask?

The cute baby always sleeps in the exact same position as in his ultrasound images.

Michael dreaming and napping away with his signature hands in a laid-back pose is an absolutely amazing thing to behold. He was sleeping in this position before he was even welcomed to the world.

His funny sleeping pose hasn’t gone unnoticed, and mom couldn’t help but share a funny comparison picture on the social news site Reddit, where it quickly went viral with almost 85,000 upvotes.

“Pretty sure no one switched my baby at birth. Progress from 3 weeks left inside to 3 weeks on the outside,” Sarah wrote.

Remarkably, Sarah almost didn’t even have ultrasounds to compare with. She had already booked one appointment for an ultrasound in the past, but she was disappointed because the image was distorted. Luckily, her mother and grandmother kept pressuring her to get another appointment for an ultrasound, and Sarah is happy that she did.

She was thrilled to see her son in a state of peace and relaxation and couldn’t wait until she could hold him in her arms.

“From day one, this kid knew how to relax,” the new mom said to Yahoo. “He always slept with his hands up like that. If you were to go through my phone right now, you’d find probably about a million and a half images of him sleeping in that exact same position. One day, I thought to go back and look at his ultrasound pictures. I saw that one and was like, ‘OMG! He sleeps just like that now!’”

Aside from Michael’s funny sleeping position with two hands behind his head, the three-year-old baby also has a specific routine when he’s nursing. Instead of two hands, the adorable kid just puts one hand on the back of his head, in a totally relaxed and cool manner. Sarah has photographed him doing this on more than twenty different occasions!

Sarah received a ton of positive comments on her photos and is happy that she can share her joy with others.

“The reaction online has been overwhelmingly positive, and that’s quite a tall order for Reddit!”

Some people in the comments also expressed some concern, because they noticed that there was a blue light right behind Michael in one of the pictures.

“He had unexplained hemolytic anemia and severe prolonged jaundice for the first month of his life, which is why he’s resting on that blue light in the picture,” Sarah explained. “It’s an iPad sized light we had to keep him on 24/7 for the first 4 weeks because he was super jaundiced. Had to have several hospital visits. He’s good now, though. Its common, ours just lasted a little longer than most.”

One parent could even relate to this funny situation and shared a personal, similar story.

“My daughter did this same thing 8 years ago, she would curl her hands under her chin in this funny way for every ultrasound, we had a lot of them due to complications, so she’d be like this every time we checked her. As an infant she was doing it constantly. Was so cool! She’s 8 years old now and I STILL find her curling her hands that way when she sleeps!” Reddit user paintymcbobs wrote.

Michael has already been dubbed the “king of taking it easy”, and we can definitely understand why!
