Most parents have been warned that ‘kids grow up so fast.’ It can be difficult to let this sink in as you’re changing your millionth dirty diaper and your toddler is having a temper tantrum – but it’s very true.
In an instant, your babies are kids, then bigger kids, then somehow teens. That’s why enjoying every moment (even the small ones) is the greatest advice there is.

While we snap photos at birthday parties and pumpkin patches when our children are young, sometimes it’s the day-to-day moments you want to remember forever.
One mom managed to capture a priceless memory on film after her baby woke up from a nap. It’s simple, it’s sweet, and it’s just plain adorable.

In the video, the mom’s aware that her daughter Lexa is awake in her crib. A parent typically walks into their baby’s room without even thinking to flip on the camera. But really, there’s nothing more precious than a happy, well-rested baby! Fortunately for this mom, she thought to hit the record button that day.
Lexa is resting her head on a pink stuffed animal and she looks up at her mommy with big beautiful eyes. Rise and shine, little one!

When Lexa smiles, get ready for your heart to liquefy.
A parent is usually a pro at making their kid smile. The mom says to her daughter in a sing-song voice, “Good morning! Did you have a good nap?” Just looking at that happy face I think it’s safe to say she did!

Lexa’s crib is decorated in Dr. Suess and turns out, her stuffed friend is a pig. Her mom talks to her about her piggy and tries to wipe something from her face. But when the baby tries to roll away, mom adorably responds:
“Say, ‘stop buggin, Mom!’ Say, ‘stop bugging, Mom!'”
Just the sight of her mommy and hearing her excited voice has Lexa grinning from ear to ear.

Time to eat!
The woman seems just as happy to see her little one as Lexa is getting her mom’s attention. After getting some good rest there’s nothing better than mealtime – so she asks her:
“You ready to get up and have some bananas – your favorite?”

Although Lexa might not understand everything her mom is saying, it’s obvious she loves listening to her friendly voice.
According to WebMD’s site “Grow,” you should talk to your baby often. They explain:
“Babies learn to speak by imitating the sounds they hear around them. So the more you talk to your baby, the faster he will acquire speech and language skills.”

WebMD encourages parents to speak to their babies “throughout the day, narrating your activities together.” This will help them connect language sounds with everyday activities and objects. They suggest talking while you’re dressing your baby, feeding them, giving them a bath, etc.

It seems like Lexa’s mom knows the importance of communication with your baby, just by how she talks to her.
The mom tells her daughter, “Come bring piggy and we’ll have some ‘nanas.” Although the video ends soon after, and we don’t get to see lunchtime – it was probably a pretty cute scene too!

Watch the video below to see how precious this footage is. It may not be a big event, but it’s a moment Mom’s lucky to have caught on film!
