Many parents wonder about the so-called ‘right time’ to have their children. Some feel that it’s best to have their kids quite close together, allowing them all to grow up side-by-side, but there are other families who have children with quite big age differences.
While it might not be right for every family, having a big age difference between kids can actually come with some really big benefits!
Older children tend to feel like protectors of their little siblings, ready and eager to guide them through the early stages of life, picking them up when they fall down, and making them feel safe, while also learning valuable nurturing skills themselves.
We can see a beautiful example of how differently-aged kids can get along so well here in this video, which shows a lovely big brother named Michael having a chat with his sweet baby sister, Audrey.
Michael is 9 years old in the video, while Audrey is just two and a half months, so there’s quite a big difference between the two, but that doesn’t prevent them from forming a beautiful bond.
In just 30 seconds of footage, we can all clearly see the lovely connection these kids share, and it’s equally clear to see that they’re going to grow up to be the best of friends!
The video begins with Michael holding little Audrey up on his lap. She’s wearing a precious little pink dress and gazing back, wide-eyed, at her big bro.
Clearly trying to put a smile on her sweet little face, Michael gently rocks her around and makes some funny sounds, and Audrey seems to be absolutely hypnotized!
She just can’t seem to look away, totally enraptured by her brother’s antics.
Michael continues to try and entertain his sister, wiggling his head around and making a bunch of funny singing noises, hitting the high notes and then going down low.
The whole entire time, Audrey is staring right at him with the most surprised and intrigued expression on her face, and when Michael has finished his little routine, he can’t help bursting into laughter just from looking at her.
We can’t blame him! He’s got one of the cutest little sisters the world has ever seen. We only wish we knew what was going through her mind the whole time.
