If you’ve seen the film “Napoleon Dynamite”, and remember just one thing about it, that one thing is probably the legendary dance scene. In the famous scene, John Heder’s character thrilled cinema goers with his awkward yet passionate dance routine. The scene shows the “Vote for Pedro” shirt-wearing oddball character using his…eclectic…moves to express the music in his heart. The reason it tickled audiences so much is because it’s something everybody does…
…it’s just that most people do it in private.
Frankie goes to Hollywood.
Or at least he probably will when this viral video of the lad making his chores that much more enjoyable hits a producer’s eyes. After asking his dad to play Michael Jackson’s 1988 hit “Smooth Criminal” while he did the nightly dishes, Frankie went to work on his chores. It wasn’t long however, before Dad started to hear rustling from the kitchen. What he caught, was Frankie’s innate passion for dance revealing itself mid-chores.
It starts off small.
At first, Frankie slips in a dance move here, a Jackson-esque move there, but when he breaks out the quintessential MJ shoulder shrug, you know he’s gearing up to get on down.
Don’t just open that dishwasher drawer, DANCE it open!
The final transition into full dance routine comes when Frankie squats to access the bottom drawer of the dishwasher. He stoops as a boy, but he rises again as a dancer!
Soon, Frankie is lost to the song!
Sorry Mom and Dad, those chores are going to have to wait a little longer! So captivated he is by the song, that just like Napoleon Dynamite, he is in a world of his own.
Kid got moves!
Well…somebody’s been watching old MJ music videos! How else would he know all of these classic Michael Jackson moves? It wouldn’t be a dance to Smooth Criminal without a well timed tippy-toe stance. To be honest, who hasn’t gotten lost in the music when your favorite dance song comes one?
Oop, maybe a little more practice needed for that one!
Ok, so…Maybe Frankie gets a little too caught up in the music when he nearly falls head first into the refrigerator. Not to be swayed however, Frankie is a true powerhouse of dancing magic and turns his quick spill into even more choice dance moves.
Sooner or later, Frankie’s audience is revealed.
Well, it could only go for so long before Frankie realises that he has been filmed throughout his whole “routine”. Obviously, as anyone would after finding out that their private dance session had been not only watched, but recorded, he looks visibly sheepish. But relax Frankie, I think you’ll find that viewers are more impressed than anything else!
