When Julie Kemp and her family were driving home from church in 1997, they had no idea their lives would be changed forever.

On their way home, they were tragically T-boned on the car’s driver’s side by another driver. The accident was horrendous, killing Julie’s husband, and her 8-year-old son Landon— twice.

When the accident happened, Julie’s husband’s seat flew backward, crushing the boy and killing him. On the scene, medical responders managed to revive him, but he died again in the ambulance on the way to the Carolinas Medical Center.

Thankfully, doctors were able to revive Landon once and for all, but they also told Julie the chances of him surviving were very, very slim.

In a video aired by CBN, Julie says, “They told me that if he lived, which did not look good, but that if he lived, he would be like an 8-year-old baby. He would not know how to walk or talk or eat… I was so desperate that that was okay. I would take that just to have him.”

Landon spent 2 full weeks in a coma, and everyone was shocked when he finally awoke with no signs of brain damage. Now though, Julie still had to tell him that his father had passed away. She tells CBN she didn’t want to hurt her son more after everything he had been through, so she tried to use a gentle approach.

“I asked Landon. I said, ‘Do you know where your Dad is at?’ And he told me, ‘Yes, I know where he’s at… I saw him in Heaven.'”

As if that’s not shocking enough though, Landon also reveals information that his parents had never told him, saying, “Oh, Mom! By the way, I forgot to tell ya— I saw your other 2 kids.”

Landon’s statement was in reference to 2 miscarriages Julie had experienced before he was born. In the clip, she says, “We had never shared that with Landon. He did not know that we had lost 2 children before him”

Nowadays, Landon is all grown up. But he still vividly remembers the trips to Heaven he took after the deadly crash that took his life twice as an 8-year-old.
