A lot of people have some crazy memories from when they’ve woken up from anesthesia. If you’ve ever had surgery, you know. Though some people’s imaginations tend to run a little wilder than others.
Based on the responses some people shared on Reddit, we can safely say it’s impossible to predict what might come out of your mouth when coming off of anesthesia.
I mean, you’re essentially trippin’ on drugs.
But it’s better than the alternative of no anesthesia. And especially for young kids who can’t yet cope well with pain or the fear of the unknown going into surgery, it’s a blessing.
An average person experiences two broken bones in their lifetime.
And as we all know, kids are clumsy and don’t know their limits, so it’s common for some of their antics to result in a broken bone.
Take this little guy, for example. He had to go in for surgery after breaking his arm, and was very confused when he woke up.
Fortunately, like any good parent, his dad recorded it all to share with us. He had a great sense of humor about the whole thing, even though his son was spittin’ some pretty harsh insults.
The clip starts out with the boy quite exasperated, and telling his dad and the nurse that he figured out how he broke his arm.
According to him, he ran to California, then ran to New York, then climbed the Statue of Liberty, and fell off.
Seems legit.
His dad never confirms nor denies and explains the actual way in which his son broke his arm so hey… anything is possible.
Even funnier, is how he’s seeing everything as fruit. That’s right, fruit. He’s confusing his pulse monitor for an apple, his dad for a banana, and his arm for a banana.
To be fair, his new cast is bright yellow and arms are kinda banana shaped, I guess. I don’t know how to justify the dad as banana-like but he’s behind the camera so he very well may look like a banana, who knows?
The little guy is chomping his teeth towards his arm as if he’s trying to eat it, and everyone in the room is trying to calm him down. But he doesn’t love that.
Son: “But it’s a banana, why can’t I bite the banana?!”
Dad: “Oh you think that’s a banana, huh?”
Son: “Is it not peeled? Can you peel my banana?”
And like any good dad, instead of telling his son that he’s actually trying to cannibalize his own arm, he fake peels the arm-banana.
Moments later he’s fake chewing on air and talking about how delicious the banana tastes, and then asking what a banana even is. Good question little guy. What IS a banana?
When his dad tries to wipe a tear away from his eye, the kid slips another level away from reality. All of a sudden, he doesn’t recognize his own parent.
He lets out a weak, but very distressed sounding:
“Stranger danger…”
And tries to push his dad away.
So of course, his dad has to quickly jump in to set the record straight.
“No! Not stranger danger! It’s me, Daddy.”
The boy still doesn’t believe him. He’s going to get his own dad arrested at the hospital! And as if that wasn’t bad enough… he ruthlessly tosses in an insult.
“No it’s not. You look like The Joker.”
But his dad has a great sense of humor, and says that’s what his son’s mother calls him all the time. Outrageous!
This kid has earned almost 2.5 million views on YouTube for his hilarious post-surgery antics. His parents will definitely be holding this over him for years to come.
This is why we don’t do drugs, kids!
