It’s hard enough for most adults to cope with and understand the need to stay home during the coronavirus pandemic. So helping kids understand it is even more challenging!
4-year-old Jason of Pennsylvania had a hard time wrapping his head around why he couldn’t visit the barbershop. He thinks his hair is getting too long and he isn’t a big fan.
Fortunately for us, his mom caught his adorable reaction to being told the hair dressers are closed on camera!
He looks very concerned and you can see him trying to process why he can’t just visit his usual barber.
“Can you get me a hair cut, and squeeze me in before it be closing?”
His parents must have been teaching him about the importance of wearing masks if they go outdoors, because he suggests that as a way to safely get his hair cut.
“Like wear a mask or something?”
But unfortunately, it goes slightly further than that, little buddy.
The barbershops aren’t even open. They have to stay home to stay safe too!
And of course, there are other ways to get a hair cut. His mom thinks she could do a pretty good job of it, and offers it as a suggestion.
But you can tell by the look on his face… he is not impressed.
Somehow the entire thing is made cuter by his awesome alligator jammies.
Holding back some laughter she asks him straight out.
“Do you want mommy to cut your hair?”
Which is, unsurprisingly, met with a resounding “no”. His eyes are so big and face is so emotive – he looks like a Pixar character.
Little Jason is doing his very best not to offend his mama, and is asking as politely as he can.
“I really don’t like my hair this way.”
His mom pokes more fun and suggests she try to give him a buzzcut.
He doesn’t look so sure. You can tell he loves his mom, but he doesn’t fully trust her as a hair stylist. He would prefer that a professional do it.
Maybe he’s seen some of the many DIY hair cuts gone wrong on YouTube. Or maybe he has a friend whose parents cut their hair in a way he doesn’t like.
It’s hard to say exactly why, but this little boy is being pretty picky (and perhaps wise) about who he lets cut his hair.
When his mom tries to cheer him up and tell him they’ll figure something out, he immediately puts on the most adorable, disapproving frown.
This is a familiar childish pout that we’ve seen many adults wearing since the lockdown orders were put in place.
But unfortunately for little Jason, he’s going to have to wait a little longer if he wants to visit a real salon instead of the mommy-salon.
The Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, recently extended the stay-at-home order until June 4. The order mandates all non-life sustaining businesses to remain closed.
We’re all having to go without some services at the moment, but if you just put a little extra faith in your family members or roommates, one of them might be able to cut your hair for you!
I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to the update from Jason’s mom showing us how his hair turns out when she inevitably ends up cutting it for him.
Watch the video below for Jason’s full reaction to the devastating news of the barber shop being closed.
