Back in 2017, ten-year-old Tre and his little brother, seven-year-old Ke’Lynn barely got to see each other as each child lived in separate foster homes. The brothers had been in Child Protective Custody for more than three years.
The boys needed time apart to heal from their trauma. Still, being away from the only family you have is tough. Especially for kids aged ten and seven.
“I want to see him every day, and I don’t,” said little brother Ke’Lynn sadly.
Tre certainly feels responsible for his little brother like any good big brother should be. Not to be around daily to protect Ke’Lynn must have been so painful for Tre.
“He don’t let nobody push me around,” Ke’Lynn says of his older brother.
“Because I love him so much,” answered a crying Tre.
According to their social worker, this happens every month when the boys’ visit comes to an end. The brothers cry when it’s time to go and will not want to be separated. That really hurts.
Tre just wants to live with his brother with a good family to call their own.
It’s so heartbreaking seeing the boys cry whenever they’re asked about the other. There’s something about a brother’s love that’s often ignored by most. It’s a powerful force.
Then a man with a big heart saw the boys.
Robert Beck says he was crying when he heard about Tre and Ke’Lynn, and that they tugged at his heartstrings wherein he felt an instant connection with them. He knew he had to figure out a way to bring them home.
The boys moved in with Robert but it was nothing formal… yet.
“When those boys started crying, so did I. That man is an angel, and I hope that people keep stepping up and being good people for kids who need it.”
A viewer named Laura said.
When Robert took the boys with him inside a courtroom, the two kids had no idea that it was the day they’d been dreaming of for so long.
Seven months of anguish was over, and the brothers could now grow up together. It’s official. Robert can now call them his sons and the boys are going to be loved and supported by Robert and his many friends.
“The word “I GO HOME” when the older boy replied, brought tear to my eyes. For those who has a home to go to might mean nothing, but to these boys, it’s very significant. Because now they have a HOME not a HOUSE to go to.”
Says another viewer.
Robert is a wonderful man. He never hesitated, instead allowing his heart to lead him into adopting Tre and Ke’Lynn. He knew the boys needed a home. The boys are in great hands.
And for the first time in a long time, Tre and Ke’Lynn get to smile and laugh together. And this time, it’s for life.
