For those of us who celebrate Christmas, we can remember being taken to the mall to get a photo with Santa each year. Nowadays people even take their pets to take pictures with Santa Claus.
Two brothers, Mike and Martin Gray, from Holliston, Mass., decided to continue the tradition of taking a photo with Santa into their adulthood and are even passing the tradition on to their own kids.
Here Mike is at age 1 in 1980 in his first photo with Santa.
Here is him in 1982 with what appears to be the same Santa.
He took a photo in 1983 with a Santa in the very same chair and in 1984 his baby brother Martin joined him.
While Martin was happy to see Santa in in 1984, the same can’t be said for him in 1985.
In 1986, Martin seemed less upset by the man in the red suit.
By 1988, he was totally into it.
By 1989, the boys were too old to sit on Santa’s lap.
Or so they thought…
They decided they would just keep going with it, even if they were too heavy for Santa.
As the boys got older, some of the Santas started looking creepier.
By 1999, Santa had a new chair and looked really happy to be listening to what these guys wanted for Christmas.
But by 2003, Santa was over it.
In 2008, they decided to incorporate props.
In 2010, they decided they would wear matching sweaters.
By 2011, there was a new addition to their tradition. Mike’s son.
In 2012, they had a Hawaiian shirt theme.
By 2013, Mike and Martin’s daughters joined in on the photos.
Mike said that they’ll continue the tradition as long as their kids entertain it.
“I have two kids and Martin has one. And I guess we are going to continue with it… When they start to despise us for it. That is the teachable moment and we’ll continue with it.”
