There’s something really magical about pregnancy announcements as they’re often indescribable. This woman recently found out that she was expecting a baby, but she absolutely wanted to surprise the soon-to-be dad with a beautiful photo shoot.
Chelsie Morales and her husband Will are happily married, and Chelsie didn’t want to tell Will right away that she was pregnant.
Instead, she came up with a perfect plan to tell him he would become a father.
Chelsie convinced her husband that she’d won a photo shoot, where her plan would come together perfectly.
The pregnant mom got in touch with Kara Fishbaugh, a classmate from high school and a professional photographer at Kara Quinn Photography. The two then brainstormed about a special way to let Will know about the news, and it’s the sweetest thing you’ve seen all day.
“The announcement was all Chelsie’s idea,” Kara told to Scary Mommy. “Together, we orchestrated the entire shoot down to the minute she was able to reveal the news. Will thought they won a photo shoot and he was already SO excited about just that.”
“He REALLY had no idea what he was in for. Like I said before, he thought they had won a photo shoot! I put together a fake email congratulating them on their win so he had no reason to think anything different!”
The photoshoot took place at the Standing Bear Lake in West Omaha, Nebraska. After a couple of pictures, Kara asked both of them to write three words on a small piece of a chalkboard. Will wrote used the three words “beautiful, witty and smart”. Chelsie, however, wasn’t planning on doing the same.
Instead of picking three words, she wrote: “You’re going to be a daddy” with a heart underneath.
They say a picture speaks more than a thousand words, and with a photographer standing just a couple of feet away, the entire moment was captured by Kara. Will’s reaction at the moment he sees the other chalkboard is absolutely golden and it makes for some truly amazing pictures.
“His face was priceless!” Kara said. “When Chelsie turned her chalkboard around, it actually took him a long couple of seconds to actually realize what hers said. He was looking for three words that described him best but what he read was ‘You’re going to be a daddy.’”
“It was one of the best moments I have ever been a part of and I am so happy we were able to pull it off,” she adds. “Chelsie held the news for a LONG four days from her husband so you can imagine the excitement on the wife’s end as well.”
Congratulations to the soon-to-be mom and dad!
