Having the talk with your child about dating is always an interesting experience.

It’s an inevitable thing to see them grow up so fast and be brought out to the world around them. Eventually, it is something every parent is tasked to do at some point in time.

Some parents can be stricter and enforce rules to prohibit such relationships from ever flourishing. Others are more lenient and prefer to be openly communicative of how to manage relationships on a mature level.

But what happens when “the talk” occurs at a premature level?

We’re talking about a video that has caught fire on the internet about a father jokingly arguing with his 2-month-old daughter about her apparent romantic crush. The conversation will instantly melt your heart!

“I don’t care if you like him or not I don’t know him!” said Dad authoritatively.

And so the intense debacle begins!

The baby girl was made sure to prove her point as she constantly refuted her dad’s every argument. She quickly interrupted him and made sure she got her point across no matter how incomprehensible it was. “I said you’re too old for him! I want to no excuses!”

Her dad continued to say. The fuss continued as his daughter was not throwing the white towel anytime soon. And why would she? She’s got a right to defend her feelings even if she can’t quite understand them yet.

However, Daddy clearly has the upper hand in the matter. He has not budged one itch on his stance and it looks like he won’t any time soon. On top of that, he asserted his dominance by letting his baby know the next stop will be her crib if she keeps up her rambling.

She immediately quiets down and realizes what’s at stake here. Like world champion poker player Phil Ivey, she keeps her cards faced down without revealing her hand.

“Don’t be talking back now! Listen, I said don’t be talking back now!” Daddy says half-jokingly as he’s clearly having fun at this point, “You’re too young to date!”

But not too young to pull up a worthy verbal argument. The cute baby continues to ramble and babble her way into our hearts as she desperately tries to get her message across.

Her efforts are going nowhere, but she’s got one more plan under her sleeve…or should we say bib.

After staying quiet for a few moments, it seems she’s gathered a second wind and began winding her vocal chords for another showdown. Only this time, her dad made sure to put his foot down and stomp out any further plans.

“We ain’t going to Chuck E Cheese. Who’s gonna push who? You think I’ll be pushing you two around? No I ain’t!” Daddy said emphatically.

The final straw may have been broken with Chuck E Cheese.

The baby was clearly not having it and even agreed that her dad should be taking BOTH her and crush to eat at Chuck E Cheese. Her demands were struck down by daddy as he refused to be a part of it.

The baby’s rubbish proved futile, but at least laughter was the outcome of such a sweet father and daughter interaction. She may never be at the right age to date as long as her protective father has something to say about it. Hopefully, when she’s older she’ll have a better choice of words when it’s time to come clean and have the talk again.

Many parents struggle with having this talk at an early age. At least these two can look back at this moment as one of the first disagreements that were actually fun to be a part of. Whether or not the bridge to understanding was crossed, it will be a memory that will be cherished for a long time.

In the meantime, make sure to watch and share the hilariously heartwarming interaction!
