We all need good advice every now and then. Perhaps none more so than parenting and all that comes with it. Old and new parents alike need to be shown a thing or two. Call them refresher courses. Lucky we live in the digital age.
How to DAD offers GREAT advice for … dads. But moms, please pay attention too. Trust me on this one you don’t want to miss a single thing. This channel is pretty self explanatory. He describes himself as,
“I’m a Dad from New Zealand that makes funny videos about parenting stuff and about New Zealand. Pretty simple.”
So you think you know how to handle and carry a baby? This funny Dad may have a few new tips for you.
Here he is with some very specific and detailed instructions on “How to hold a baby”. Pay attention.
“Uh, first you’re gonna need a baby… Baby.”
He holds up a baby. Good. Got yours?
Now it starts with the “standard shoulder hold” and “reverse standard shoulder hold”. Don’t get confused. Just transfer the baby to the other shoulder. Gently, you don’t want the baby to cry.
Next is the “Need to pick something up standard shoulder hold”. Dropped something? Practice this one. Baby dropped something? Do this one.
Next is a special one.
The “Baby Jesus” and the “Double baby Jesus”. Hey, someone may just make a painting of you and turn it in to a statue as well. You never know. Just watch out for angels appearing in your dreams.
The next one is pretty helpful.
The “Stinky nappy for me” and the “Stinky nappy for you”. Babies like to drop surprise bombs so this manner of holding them should help keep those fumes away. Keep wet wipes in your bag.
The “Box of beers” is a dad favorite. Assume the natural position of carrying something for your buddies and you get the idea.
“The telephone”. Now I don’t know any parent who would carry their baby this way but okay, this dad may have experienced a situation wherein he needed to use it. Keep taking down notes.
“The dance partner” is fun. You get to look at your cute darling while spinning around to your favorite music. Should help with bonding process too!
Now for the “Bird on a wire”. Another position that doesn’t seem to make sense but this guy is an expert. Can’t imagine mom’s reaction when she sees this one though.
From the “Poor man’s front pack” to the “Hide your beer belly” and the “Rugby ball hold”, this dad shows how being creative while still being a good dad can make your day a little easier. Of course, don’t show mom.
The “Show off to the other dads Superman” and the “Show off to the other kids fish” are ways of telling everyone what a proud father one can be while flexing a few muscles at the same time. Need to get the attention off that beer belly.
The best part about this instructional video is how well behaved his baby was! Assuming of course it was his baby…
