If you’re a parent, then you already know how stressful it is trying to keep your kids safe at all times. You might think they wouldn’t do anything to put themselves in danger. But in reality, little ones don’t know how to keep themselves out of harm’s way.

While everyone knows that, it’s different when you get a glimpse for yourself of just how much danger they can get into. Even if you have all the technology and safety features in place to keep your baby safe, they can still find ways around it. And that’s every parent’s worst nightmare.

A viral video

One family recently posted a video online. They wanted to show other parents just how important it is to always watch their children. Because what they found their child doing was shocking.

A surprising scene

One day, a baby named Cody was hanging out by the family pool. But his mom and dad weren’t worried considering there were plenty of safety and protective measures in place to prevent an accident. What they didn’t know was how easily he could get where he wanted to go.

Stronger than he looks

Even though there was a special safety ladder installed designed to keep Cody from getting in the pool, it didn’t seem to work. The reason is that Cody was able to crawl up the ladder without any assistance. He simply used his hands and feet to pull himself up.

A fast ascent

Perhaps the scariest part of this video is that Cody got up the ladder quickly and easily. You wouldn’t believe how fast he was able to scurry up. That means he’s in danger whenever he’s out at the pool unsupervised.

Scary thoughts

Cody’s parents wondered what would’ve happened if they hadn’t been there. It took Cody a very short amount of time to get up the ladder. If they hadn’t known what was going on, by the time they could’ve reached him, it might’ve been too late.

Rescued at last

Once Cody reached the top of the ladder, it was time to step in. Cody’s mom took quick action. She grabbed him and put him back on the ground.

Other people have shared videos

Cody’s not the only one who’s been able to get over barriers quickly. Tons of people post videos on the internet showing their children scaling walls or fences. It seems as though these little kids can climb up and over just about anything.

Frightening for parents

For parents, this realization is downright frightening. They want to make sure their kids are safe no matter what. But if they can’t rely on these protective barriers, how are they supposed to do that?

Supervision is key

So, what’s the best way to make sure kids stay safe? It always comes down to supervision. Children have to be supervised at all times. And the younger a child is, the more important the supervision.

Educating parents

Although these videos are scary, hopefully, other parents can learn from them. Maybe after watching one or two, other parents will understand the importance of constant supervision when it comes to their children.
