Nobody is ever truly ready for the pressures of raising a baby. No matter how prepared we think we are, bringing a new little person into the world always comes with more challenges than we expect. Having a baby means always putting yourself second. It means making sure they stay fed, that their diapers are changed and that they don’t end up hurting themselves by accident. On the other side of things though, babies are full of curiosity and innocence and can bring plenty of light to your life. Having a child allows parents to let our their own inner children.
That’s what happened in this adorable clip between a father and his daughter.
The clip was loaded into the internet by Dan Fowlks, an actor and model based out of New York City.
In addition to Fowlks’ busy professional life, he is also a father and a husband. Most recently, he and his wife welcomed a baby girl named Nova Lin. He recently posted a special message on Facebook in honor of her first birthday:
“Happy 1st birthday to my Supernova! She’s been lounging around today. I have my diaper on as well…”
Even cuter than that is a viral video of Fowlks serenading his daughter with a guitar.
In the clip, he performs a cover of Bobby Darin’s “Dream Lover” to his little girl. Fowlks is a pretty good guitar player and the song sounds great—still, it’s little Nova Lin who steals the show. While her dad strums the notes, she bounces up and down, dances and even tries to grab the guitar out of dad’s hands!
Fowlks’ daughter is being so silly that he even breaks character a few times.
The video was loaded to Facebook where it’s been viewed more than 25 million times.
Even celebrities like Orlando Bloom have shown their support for the performance! Above all, the clip is an adorable moment between a father and daughter that shows just how rewarding parenting can be. While there are plenty of responsibilities that come with raising a child, Fowlks’ performance shows that having fun and spending quality time with your children is also just as important. Fortunately, this video stands as a great example of how to be a hands-on dad.
Awesome job, Dan—Bobby Darin would be proud.
