When young people are in love, they often do crazy things.
For example, disobey their parents. That’s what happened in one family’s home recently when a stepdad noticed that his teenage stepson snuck his girlfriend into his room without asking permission.
Not only that, but unbeknownst to the mom, the visitor also stayed the night!
Though unknown to the stepdad while tweeting, there was a little surprise in store . . .
The hilarious stepdad decided to live Tweet the chaos that followed the next morning when the boy tried to sneak the girl out of the house without anyone noticing.

There was an obvious pair of shoes right by the door. The stepdad noticed. However, the mom was so busy with household chores that she hadn’t discovered them yet.

The pair of white shoes really stood out amongst all of the other black ones. In addition, they weren’t even located on the rack. They were sitting at a different angle in front of the rest of them. Yet, that wasn’t even the biggest problem for the young couple.
The distance issue:
A note on the shoe thing.. there is a side door attached to the kitchen literally right at the bottom of the stairs. But… Those damn shoes are on the opposite side of the house.

Because of the location of the shoes, the girlfriend would have to walk all the way across to the other side of the home to escape.
That meant a lot of opportunity to be seen by the mom.
However, at that moment, the mom was already very distracted by another problem…

The mom was so immersed in her cleaning and music. The stepdad speculated that it would provide the teenagers a chance to slip through the house and out the door without being caught. At the same time, people on Twitter began bashing the stepdad for refusing to assist the couple. It was his duty, they said, to help cover up the crime of the young lovers. He wasn’t having it though.

The stepdad decided to simply observe and let the situation play out naturally. The kid was technically an adult now and he wasn’t about to interfere. Not to mention, he was having way too much fun watching and live Tweeting the ordeal. He soon released some more pertinent information about what was happening.

The clear winner was the son and the girlfriend, much to the dismay of the mama bear. People overwhelmingly wanted to see young love win out. The votes poured in at a ratio of close to two to one. Although, it was mainly just a game of waiting to see how everything would really unfold.
The anticipation was intense.
I think they might be waiting it out. The wife usually lays down and reads after lunch, especially after cleaning her ass off all morning. Could he be waiting for that?? Can she hold her pee another hour or so?? I have no idea what they thinking up there 🤷🏻♂️

There were a number of possibilities for how the kids might escape. However, as with most attempts at predicting the future, things don’t always play out as you would expect. It was all just fruitless speculation, and as a result, panic set in.

After all of the buildup, what if nothing exciting actually happened? The stepdad was really concerned that his Twitter followers would ultimately be let down. However, all of a sudden, something shocking happened.
The girlfriend emerges!

The girl came casually walking down the stairs and it was someone the family knew very well. It introduced some plausible deniability into the situation. Although, since the stepdad heard all of the loud noises throughout the night, there was no hiding the truth. Eventually, it would come out.

The stepdad was totally blown away. Maybe there was something that he didn’t understand. Since everyone’s behavior was so casual, that was the only explanation. They were all acting just like nothing happened.

With the shoes safely recovered, sneaking out would be easy. The stepdad tried to play it cool, yet gave his son a knowing wink to see if he would react. The teenager was calm though. He stared out of the corner of his eyes but didn’t make any declarative statements. The stepdad imagined that this would soon all come to an end.
Finally, it happens…
Well that’s a wrap folks! Mama just went to the bedroom to lay down and read for a bit. He’s got a good 2-3 hour window… Looks like young love finds a way, for now! 💏

After the anti-climatic ending, people were left even more curious than before. Many people were hoping for some sort of hilarious and awkward confrontation. Luckily, that wasn’t the end of the story though. The real awkwardness was soon to come.

The demand was clear. Thousands of likes later and the dad decided to let the world in on the big secret. He thought he knew exactly what was going on. However, it turns out, his wife was keeping a secret from him as well.
Mom was in on it, kind of.
Factoid: mom knew she was spending the night. As they were close friends practically their whole lives of course they would never be physical like that. Mom was actually worried I was going to notice and be upset since there is a pretty clear no sleepover rule.

All the while that the mom appeared to be distracted cleaning, she was already totally aware of the sleepover. She seemed oblivious, but in fact, she already had more information than the stepdad did. At least, she thought she did. However, when she decided to check out her husband’s Twitter feed later, she learned some new information as well.
