Having a baby opens up a beautiful chapter in a person’s life. But let’s face it, while we love every moment that we’re with our little ones – it’s not always a walk in the park, and they don’t come with a set of instructions.
Fortunately, there’s a dad from New Zealand who’s helping moms and dads navigate through parenting “one ‘How to’ video at a time.”
If you’ve ever wondered things like, “How do I get my baby to clean the house?” or “How do I feed my baby?” – this is your guy!
Meet the dad from “How to DAD.”
His YouTube channel alone has more than 600K subscribers, and it contains helpful parenting videos that are created with humor. If you’re expecting that the star of How to DAD is professionally-trained in the field, don’t. Here’s what he says on his Facebook page:
“G’Day, I’m a Dad from New Zealand. A self taught Dad expert. Some people call me ‘How to DAD’, others just yell out “Idiot!”.
It’s near impossible to keep a straight face watching How to DAD’s videos.
He’s provided viewers around the world tips for grocery shopping with a baby, taking kids to a restaurant, and getting little ones to eat their veggies. Whether or not you’re a parent, his videos are hilarious.
One that has people cracking up is called, “How to Talk to a Baby.”
Sure, you might think you already know the answer to this question. You simply pull out your best high-pitched baby voice and you’ve got your tiny angel hypnotized. But according to this dad, there’s another way you can speak to babies.
The dad includes his own kids in the ‘how to’ videos so that we can see his tips in action. For this one, he naturally brought along his baby.
Get out a pen and paper because it’s time to take notes!
He points out the fact that many of us change our voices talking to a baby.
“Ah, now a lot of people think when you talk to a baby that you need to go like… ‘Oh Hello, how are you? Did you have a good sleep?'”
For his example, How to DAD uses his own interpretation of a high-pitched voice (which sounds a lot like Mrs. Doubtfire). Understandably, his baby breaks into a smile!
According to How to DAD, there’s a different way we could talk to babies.
He continues:
“When in reality they’re just a human like us so you can just talk like this…”
He then provides viewers another example. Instead of changing his voice, he simply uses his regular one and asks his daughter:
“Hey um… You’re cool if we like just keep making these videos until you’re like 20, yeah?”
That’s it! That’s how easy it is to talk to a baby. Yet, he has one more question for his daughter that leads to hysterical results…
Not only that, but the last few moments of the video are splitting sides too. The “How to Talk to a Baby” video has 320K thumbs-ups and has gathered comments like:
“Hahahaha i love this soo much😂😄”
Someone else wrote:
“Omg you made my day 😂😂😂😂😂🥰❣❣💓”
Being a parent isn’t the easiest job in the world. Fortunately, How to DAD is here to help us through it all. Or, at least give us a good laugh!
