It’s natural for little kids to think of their dads as real-life superheroes. After all, they’re big, strong, and often the protectors of their families. There are even some dads who’ve literally swooped in and saved the day, and the amazing moments were caught on film.
The guys in the video below might not wear capes – but they certainly deserve medals for their actions!
#1. Cars and hills don’t always mix.
In one clip, several children are playing with a big toy car at the top of a grass hill. The fun part (of course) is riding down the hill at lightning speed. While dad watches, one girl hops in, another jumps on the back, and the third gives them a big push!
The adults don’t seem to have a problem with the game – that is until they spot what’s in the car’s path…
Go, Dad, go!
At the bottom of the hill is another child, and she’s in danger of being hit by the toy vehicle unless someone jumps in. Fortunately, dad takes off running like he’s got rocket fuel in his sneakers!
In just the nick of time, he reaches the girl and picks her up – avoiding what could have been a terrible accident. Nice job, dad!
#2. Tubing day turned scary.
Floating on the river in a tube sounds like a relaxing summertime activity. But one dad learned that it can quickly change too!
The man has his tiny daughter on his lap in the tube, and it appears they’re enjoying the peacefulness together. What could possibly go wrong, right?
Don’t let go, Dad.
Out of the blue, the pair hit a snag in the river and the toddler begins to fall over. But this dad isn’t about to let go of his baby! He grabs her and their tube flips upside down – sending them into the water.
Luckily, they immediately emerge and dad’s still got a tight grip on his daughter like he’s a football player. Phew!
#3. The pacifier hero.
If you’ve ever had a baby that used a pacifier, you know how important it is not to lose them. Well, this dad is really good at catching his daughter’s pacifier anytime she spits it out! In fact, it appears they’ve created a little game out of the activity that’s pretty darn cute.
#4. A park trip he probably won’t forget.
Parks are great places for children to release their energy. However, they also can lead to bumps, bruises, and heart-racing moments too. According to the CDC, over 200,000 kids (14 and younger) in the U.S. receive emergency treatment for playground-caused injuries every year.
In the following clip, the dad is pushing his son on the swing while holding a baby in his arms. Everything seems just fine until the child leans back too far…
This guy deserves a round of applause.
Just as the boy starts flying backward off of the swing, dad amazingly catches him by the legs. What makes his catch even more impressive is that he does it with one arm, all while still holding the baby. Definitely extra-points for this dad!
#5. Another frightening swing incident.
Instead of at the park, one man saved the day when a different swinging situation turned dangerous. Just as the child falls off of a swing that’s hung from a tree – there’s an unbelievable catch that looks like it comes straight from the movies.
#6. They were just hanging out on the couch…
You wouldn’t normally think that watching TV as a family could lead to someone getting hurt. But the mom and dad in the following clip learned that it can. Just as they’re all relaxing on the couch (dad looks tired from work) their baby makes a wrong move.
Gotcha!
Although dad appears exhausted, it doesn’t keep him from catching his daughter one-handed as she topples off of the couch. Now that’s pretty awesome.
