There’s nothing like relaxing in a nice cozy chair, especially a reclining one.
And that’s what Laurie and her mom thought they were getting… a nice cozy chair.
But that’s not exactly how it went down. A family member had given them the chair as a gift. And boy was mom excited to try it out.
She thought she would be living it up and lounging comfortably as she reclined in her new chair.
And she was.
Until she had to get up. She had no idea what a monumental task this would turn out to be.
Or that her daughter would just stand by and laugh hysterically at her (while filming her nonetheless), offering no help at all.
Laurie’s mom was reclined all the way back with her feet up on the extended footrest.
She figured all she had to do was sit up to get out of the chair. Wrong… she was very wrong.
Because when she tried this she would just tumble backward and the leg rest would go flying up again.
So, Laurie’s mom leaned back with a little force and used that force to try and propel herself forward.
This proved to be a total failure. And Laurie thought it was one of the most hysterical things that she’d ever seen.
Laurie decided she’d just let it go on for a little while longer so she could get a few more laughs in.
She would also record the hilarious ordeal while she was at it.
“I can’t help you because I’m recording you,” Laurie said through her fit of giggles.
So, mom tried again. And again. And again.
And each time she would just end up in the same position she started in.
“I’m gonna [pee] my pants,” Laurie says hysterically laughing.
At this point, mom can’t help but laugh either.
She’s laughing at both herself and how hard her daughter is laughing.
Still, she is determined to get out of that chair and keeps on trying.
“Come on mom, one last one,” Laurie says trailing off into a fit of laugher.
And mom tried, really hard. And it looked as if she was about to make it. But… she didn’t
“I really need some assistance here,” mom says.
And she wasn’t lying. Every time she would swing forward, the chair would swing her back flinging the footrest right back out again.
“I can’t get out!” mom yells.
Laurie instructs mom to pull the lever so the footrest will sink back in but mom can’t reach it.
“I’m not sitting in this chair anymore!” she says.
Laurie is in stitches at this point. To the point where the laughing had become painful.
“My back and my stomach hurt so bad,” Laurie says.
Meanwhile, mom was still struggling.
“Fricken ridiculous I’m like stuck in it,” mom said.
This, of course, made Laurie laugh even harder. She was practically snorting because she was laughing so hard.
“Come on mom, you can do it,” Laurie says cheering mom on.
“I can’t do it,” mom tells her.
“Yes you can. One more time and then I’ll help you,” Laurie promises.
But Laurie never made good on her word. That’s because mom was finally triumphant over the dastardly reclining chair.
Not sure if they are going to keep that chair or if mom will ever sit in it again.
Either way, they sure had a good laugh over it which is sure to create a fond lasting memory of “Hey mom, remember the time you got stuck in the couch?”
