Being a parent is not easy. It’s the very opposite of easy, in fact.
Of course, all of the good moments outweigh the bad moments. Seeing your child’s smile, hearing their first words, watching their first steps. The first time they say, “I love you,” and the first time they go off to school…
We’re not saying being a parent is bad. It’s the best thing in the world. But that does not make it easy!
Because then there’s also your first fight. The first time your child gets in trouble at school. The first time they wet their pants or spit up on your shirt. It ain’t all sunshine and rainbows, that’s for sure.
But you love them with your whole heart because you are their parent. This is where it gets tricky. When something bad happens — like if they get in trouble at school — you have to show them that there are consequences whether that means grounding them or having a tough conversation with them.
At the same time, you still love them so much — which makes the hard stuff so much harder.
As a parent, you don’t want to yell at them. You don’t want to be the bad guy. Unfortunately, though, it is something that has to be done every now and then. Depending on the way your child reacts, it can either turn out to be quite easy or difficult.
In 2017, this dad shared a video of him and his daughter going through something just like this.
At the beginning of the clip, the dad is angry. We don’t know what happened before he started filming but it doesn’t really matter. All we know is that he is mad and he is gearing up to yell at his young daughter, he tells the viewers.
He opens the door and walks into the room fuming. There his daughter is, sitting on the stairwell.
He seems mad at first but as we all know, staying mad at a cute child is not the easiest task.
The father expects his daughter to apologize for whatever it is that she did. He also expects that getting her to apologize will be hard. Only the former, though, is true.
As soon as he enters the room, his daughter begins apologizing. “I’m sorry,” she says over and over again and even though he tries to get more out of her at first, he slowly begins to calm down.
Like we said… It’s pretty hard to stay mad at someone so cute for too long.
It’s not long before her dad gives in and comes over to give her a hug. “I love you,” he tells her.
Well, that went from 100 to 0 real fast!
The internet freaked out over just how sweet the whole exchange was. So much so that it has amassed nearly 5 million views!
“She’s not my kid, I have no idea what she did, and I still forgave her,” a stranger wrote in the comment section of the video.
“When kids are this cute they can get away with anything. She’s so adorable,” another person wrote.
