The miracle of birth is truly something wonderful to behold. Even if you aren’t in the room when the “event” happens itself, holding a baby that you’ve been expecting for so long is one of the most human experiences possible.
For couples struggling with fertility, the journey can be incredibly emotional.
A recent video shows just how emotional a successful childbirth can be. João Prudencio Neto and his wife, Karolinne, are a Brazilian couple that has been all over the internet as a video of them surfaced in celebration of their little girl.
João and Karolinne had been having issues with their fertility for a while and having a baby wasn’t really on the table for them.

Years ago, Karolinne gave birth to the couple’s first child, David. Soon after David, however, they wanted to have another kid. After trying and failing they learned something was wrong. A few tests later and the news came back – João was infertile.
Sadly, this sort of this happens all the time.
Recent data shows that struggling with infertility is all too common.
Approximately one in eight couples are affected by infertility in the United States. That’s about 6.7 million people each year who have trouble conceiving. – Fertility Answers
Still, the couple refused to give up and kept doing everything they could to have another baby.

Incredibly, the couple decided to do something that many would see as crazy – they refused any medical treatment. Instead, they decided they would resort to prayer and felt that God was going to give them another child. Day after day the couple prayed, hoping for a miracle.

After months of prayer, they finally got good news – Karolinne was pregnant with a baby girl! The couple named her Giovanna and the moment they finally got to meet her was what garnered so much attention on the internet.
In an Instagram post we can see the first time that David gets to hold his baby sister.

The moment, as you could imagine, was emotional. As João and David look at the baby girl, David soon breaks down crying. João can’t help but burst into tears after seeing his son do the same! The moment was recorded and is a beautiful example of the miracles that happen each and every day.
“Giovanna’s birth is not only a blessing for our family but also for all those who dream of one day living the miracle that only Jesus can do,” João wrote in his post on Instagram, which has been translated from Portuguese
When the video went viral, people all around the world felt a connection with the family.
Whether they themselves were struggling with infertility or just were touched by the emotional moment, hundreds of thousands of people have connected with the video. It’s always wonderful to receive some good news these days, not just bad!
