We’ve all been there. You open a letter, and what’s written on the paper changes your life forever.
Leann Aragon went to visit her father one day. She was nervous, because she had big news.
Her dad, who looked like Santa Claus and was just as friendly, had no idea what was going to happen.
So Leann and her dad hugged happily. Then the dad asked his daughter what was happening.
He couldn’t help but notice that Leann’s husband had his phone out and was recording the moment.
Then Leann handed her father an envelope.
He was confused and asked if he’d forgotten about his birthday.
So the dad opened the envelope to find a card.
He opened the card and tried to absorb what was on it.
On one side of the card were two pictures of ultrasounds. On the other was a message.
All of a sudden, it hit him: he was going to be a grandpa! He shouted to the high heavens and threw the card into the air in excitement.
Then he stepped back and kept on reacting to the news. In fact, the things he said certainly weren’t suitable for a grandpa to say around grandchildren! He’d have to work on that.
“Are you serious?” he then asked several times. Then he laughed and struggled to hold back tears.
Then the daughter handed the letter back to her father. But he was still in shock and couldn’t focus on it.
So the daughter told him that she was expecting not one but two babies.
Not only was the father about to become a grandfather, but he was also getting two grandkids at once!
This extra news had an immediate impact. The father’s legs went weak, and he had to hold on to the yard wall.
Then the stood up straight to speak again, only to find that he couldn’t form words. The news had left him breathless!
The footage cut out there, but it’s easy to imagine what happened next.
The father/soon-to-be grandfather must have broken down into tears and hugged his daughter even more.
Leann then uploaded the video to YouTube, where it soon went viral.
To date, it has gained over 5.6 million views. It also has more than 51,000 likes and 2,900 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Six months after that video, Leann went into labor (it was on time. She waited three months to tell her father.) She gave birth to two tiny babies, Brooklyn and Alexis.
Naturally, the twins have two incredible parents. But they also have grandparents who adore them. No one is more overjoyed to spend time around them than Leann’s dad.
This isn’t the only viral video of someone learning that they’re going to become a grandparent.
The most popular grandparent announcement video is a compilation of many people’s reactions. It has 11.4 million views.
That video opens with a grandfather opening a box and finding a pacifier.
The grandfather doesn’t quite get what’s happening right away. So his daughter tells him to read the tag on it.
He peers at the tag, and his face widens with shock. After getting reassurances that this isn’t a joke, the grandfather starts to cry.
The second clip in that video is familiar. That’s right, it’s Leann’s video.
So not only have 5.6 million people seen the original video, but another 11.4 million have seen it on this separate upload!
