Every year, thousands of couples in America divorce; according to statistics, 2.5 out of every 1,000 marriages will end.

And life after divorce can be tough, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

2 friends who both went through divorces at the same time, came up with an ingenious idea.

They decided that instead of both of them individually renting apartments and dealing with all the drama that comes from that, they would buy a home together.

Holly Harper and Herrin Hopper went looking for the perfect house for them and their children and they ended up finding the house on the first day of their hunt.

The women bought the house that had already been split into 4 separate apartments, and soon they were looking to fill the 2 extra rooms as well.

Leandra Nichola contacted the women when she heard about the house and soon she and her 2 children moved in as well.

A short time after that, an old friend of Holly and Herrin, a woman named Jen, found herself in a situation where she too needed a new place to live.

Soon the house was full with 4 adult women and 5 children between the ages of 9 and 14.

Luckily, everyone gets along well and all the kids have bonded and formed a cousin-like relationship.

The house has plenty to do to keep the kids occupied, a trampoline, zipline, craft room, big screen TV, and even an inflatable pool during the summertime.

Another one of the bonuses of the communal living arrangement is the built-in babysitters.

If one of the women ever needs to go out they are comforted by the fact that there are 3 other adults in the home.

They even have a dog that all the families share and they each take responsibility for it on different days.

With 9 people living under one roof, the chances of confrontations happening seem very likely.

This isn’t the case though, the women hold regular homeowners meetings to discuss what needs fixing and deal with any issues.

While normally needing the roof to be repaired, or a water heater needing fixed costs tons of money, when split equally between the 4 women, each one saves money in the end.

After doing that math, Holly realized that she had saved about $30,000 by living the way they do instead of renting an apartment and all the fees that come along with that.

And one of the most surprising things that came about during this amazing experiment, was that Leandra and Jen ended up falling in love.

They bonded immediately upon meeting and stronger feelings quickly developed between the two leading both of them down a path they were not expecting.

Leandra also opened a café nearby with the help of her incredible friends and housemates.

The women are even looking into purchasing another house and renting it out to other single moms who need support and a place to stay.

The house, aptly named “The Siren” is an incredible testament to how having a loving and supporting environment can help everyone involved grow into the person they were meant to be.
