Did you watch Disney movies when you were growing up?
For most of us, the answer is probably an enthusiastic yes. Aside from simply having seen these movies, we all have our favorite Disney princes and princesses as well (I was always partial to Robin Hood, myself). Still, part of the reason these movies have remained with us throughout the years is due to their often incredible soundtracks. Who doesn’t still sing along to their favorite Disney songs?
As this video shows, there’s truly no age too young to get into this tradition.
The clip was uploaded by popular YouTube channel Claire and the Crosbys, a family-oriented singing channel.
The masterminds behind it are Dave and Ashley Crosby, two college sweethearts who married and now live in Seattle, Washington. Still, the true star behind their entire enterprise is their adorable daughter, Claire Ryann. The channel is rife with videos of Claire Ryann performing Disney song karaoke (with incredibly high production value, we might add), but one in particular has caught everyone’s attention.
In particular, Claire Ryann’s performance of “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid is melting hearts worldwide.
Although Claire is only three years old in the video, she clearly has the entire performance down—even to the fine details.
As the clip starts, she begins by performing the spoken introduction to the song. After that, she starts into the song: “Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete?” Aside from having a great ear already, she also has her breathing and voice control down as well! The performance is also intercut with Claire’s dad, dutifully assembling her vocal performance on the computer.
Overall, the clip is a testament to the love between a father and daughter.
So far, the video has more than 15 million views on YouTube and it’s easy to see why.
Claire’s performance is incredible for someone so young and is more than a good homage to the original song. Moreover, the clips of her and her dad working together to make the final track are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. Judging by this video (and others), little Claire Ryann may have a bright musical future ahead of her—she’s already been on Ellen, after all.
