Saving the first dance for a newlywed couple at a wedding is a tradition as old as marriage itself.
Of course, this means the pressure is on for the couple to dance as elegantly as possible, to put on a show and give a good impression. It’s a dance that will set the tone for the rest of the wedding.
Some opt for a romantic moment, while others choose a choreographed routine.
The first dance is one of the things you’ll remember the most about your wedding.
Especially if you prepare for it by hiring a choreographer and practicing a lot! Judging by this video, it definitely seems like the Andersens did. Their show wasn’t just an improvisation— there is clearly a lot of hard work behind it.
As the video begins, we see the married couple on the dance floor. The groom has already taken off his jacket. His sleeves are up, and we see that they’re serious.
From the beginning, the pair have a lot of confidence and plenty of technique!
We’re proud to see a couple who were determined to learn properly!
They remembered the majority of the choreography and did not stumble through the whole dance. The flow of their routine is great, and the song choice is amazing because it suits both the routine and the couple’s style. The song is “Little Bitty Pretty One” by Huey Lewis and the News, and judging from this performance, it was a fantastic wedding song.
In our opinion, the only thing that could have been a little better was the guests… this couple deserves more energy from the crowd!
We were surprised to see that the rhythm didn’t make them hit the floor right after the wedding couple finished!
The choreography was done by Steve and Susan McFarren from the Ballroom Dance Team at the University of Michigan. We have to tip our hat to their choreography—it resulted in a truly memorable dance routine!
In all, this video is an awesome celebration of the love of music and dance.
You either have it or you don’t, and these two talented young individuals have clearly found a common ground in dancing. They are both so talented, and there is a great connection between the two of them. While they spin around on the floor, it looks like they don’t need anyone else in the world—and we’re guessing they’ll be enjoying each other’s company for a long time.
This video clearly shows the way to start your wedding celebration in style and to blow everyone away.
We hope they fit perfectly together in other aspects of their life too!
If the bride and groom are as compatible with everything as they are on the dance floor, then it’s going to be one lucky marriage.
The way the groom lifts his wife in the air and takes her away is romantic and hilarious. The routine that Mr. and Mrs. Andersen pulled off was amazing—it was true magic what they did on stage, and we’ll remember this choreography for a long time. The video was uploaded in 2016 and has been viewed more than four million times. We wish them a lot of luck, and we hope their marriage stays as joyful as their first dance!
