It’s always pleasant to see children. Aside from their cute faces, their innocence, honesty, and curiosity about many things are admirable. It’s also heartwarming how small things can make them happy.

I’m sure you would agree when I say that it’s nice to be friends with kids.

It’s contagious when they’re happy. They are forgiving, compassionate, and loving.

She met her new friend in the most unexpected place – it’s at home depot. It happened when she went there to buy some flowers.

It all started when the kid yelled a line that’s very close to her heart.

She shouted out, “Black Lives Matter” – which caught Sherri’s attention. As she was really shocked, she looked for the kid to express her appreciation. She talked to her with a thankful heart and with tears in her eyes. She was so happy that a little kid knows that her life matters.

“Today I was at HomeDepot shopping for flowers. I saw this woman and her beautiful daughter come in out the corner of my eye. After I past them, Cam, is her name. She yelled, “Black Lives Matter,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

“I turned around looking for her and told her THANK YOU, WITH TEARS IN MY EYES.”

Sherri had the chance to take a picture with Cam and she shared it online. Her post has immediately gone viral touching many hearts.

They became friends and started talking about lots of things like football.

“She noticed my Bronco necklace and told me she wants to be a Broncos cheerleader,” she shared.

Sherri is the mother of D.J. Williams, a well-known linebacker, and played 11 seasons in the National Football League. In 2004, he was drafted by the Denver Broncos.

“I told her thank you again for being so kind. She, said “can I ask you a question?” I said, yes. She said, “can you come over for a sleepover’,” she recounted.

She was extremely touched and she said that she would schedule a playdate with her.

Sherri ended her post with a brief yet heartfelt line.

“Today was a good day. THE YOUTH IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD.”

It’s great that Sherri shared their touching story which has been creating headlines.

It was not just a one-day friendship for the amazing mom and the sweet little kid.

One time, Cam’s mother reached out to Sherri. She informed her that they were having a garage sale at their house. They were doing it so they could donate the proceeds to an organization called Sherri’s Girls Empowerment International, which was established by Sherri. Its main objective is to help the youth of Naivasha, Kenya with their education. They also extend help to Kenyan small business owners and provide clean water for tribes in Suswa county. Sherri and the volunteers of the organization continuously work on these and making sure that they don’t make “unhealthy dependency.”

Eventually, her new friends were able to raise more than $2000. It’s a big help for the kids that she has been helping.

It seems like Sherri and Cam were meant to meet each other and become good friends despite their age gap. Both of them have kind hearts and they are inspirations to many of us. They have reminded us that kindness can conquer our differences. It’s so powerful that it binds us together regardless of our age, beliefs, and color of our skin.
