Videos of dogs doing cute things are always great. Videos of babies and kids doing cute things are also great. Combine them, and you have internet gold.

Kids and dogs just go together. Babies and children seem to quickly bond with dogs, and they form a connection that they’ll share through life as they grow up together. But dogs aren’t great for kids just because they’re cute and cuddly — there are actually many benefits from a childhood with a canine friend.

Dogs provide companionship for children, most importantly. Childhood can be rough, and kids can be mean, but a dog is always going to love you. Letting a child grow up with a dog is like giving them a guaranteed best friend.

Dogs teach kids valuable lessons about responsibility, kindness, and even being more active with exercise!

It’s true! Studies have shown that kids with dogs exercise 11 minutes more than children without a dog in the household. It’s just 11 minutes, but over the course of time, that quickly adds up. That’s 4,015 more minutes a year!

Another perk about having a dog around babies? Studies have shown that babies get sick less often if they are raised with a dog in the house. The dog’s microbes and dander help develop the baby’s immune system.

The best part of raising kids and dogs together, though — more happy moments in life.

It’s been shown that playing and interacting with animals can increase a child’s serotonin and dopamine levels; which are chemicals that provide us with positive feelings and overall happiness.

Whether it’s a trip to the playground or park, or a buddy to comfort you when you’re sick or after a scary doctor’s visit — dogs are the perfect companion for babies and children. They’ll share moments together that they’ll remember forever.

Maybe it’s the first meal with solid food, and the dog snuck some from the high chair. Or the first wobbly steps and the pup is there to help them back up when they fall. So many wonderful memories and moments are formed with a dog and child relationship.

Enough of the serious stuff — this wonderful compilation of kids growing up with dogs is guaranteed to brighten your mood.
