As parents, it’s heartwarming to see when your kid starts looking for a sibling.
For some, it’s a sign to put the candles on and play some easy jazz. But for others, it’s a sign that your kid might be getting attached way too easily.
We’ve seen it in a lot of kids, especially those who went to a theme park for the first time.
They’ll cling tightly around mascot legs or people who look exactly like their favorite characters.
And while their parents are trying to pry them away from the staff, they are only met with stiff resistance and the refusal to go home without the promise of taking Mickey Mouse along with them.
That might be the case for this little girl when she started clinging to her “brother”.
This sweet little girl in this video viewed over 4.3 million times claims that the boy in a shirt is her brother and refuses to let go.
While shopping at an Old Navy store in Sanford, Florida, this tiny toddler was so convinced about the identity of this person. And now that she’s found him, she’ll do whatever it takes to plead her case to their mother.
“That’s your brother?” her mom asks from behind the camera. Seemingly upset and distressed, the little girl wrapped her arms around the mannequin even more tightly.
“You just don’t want to leave him? You just love your brother too much?” she asks once more and only got a whimpering “Yeah.” In reply. Finding humor in this rather strange situation, her mom pans the camera up and reveals why they can’t bring her “brother” back along with them.
“Her brother,” she says, finally revealing the problem behind her daughter’s predicament.
The “brother” in question is a mannequin. Not only that, this store display is having troubles with the “head” department – or the lack thereof.
The video cuts with the mom trying to convince her adorable little daughter of the truth.
She explained that it’s not her brother because the thing that she’s hugging is a mannequin and it has no head.
The little girl seemed unprepared for the reality that confronted her: this thing that she considered family is nothing more than a store display that changes clothes depending on the season and what’s on sale.
Her face says it all.
In a mix of confusion and distress, she stared at her mom as she slowly and unwillingly digested the headless truth. Not one to give up, she turned to the other taller mannequins with beanies and hats. As young as she is, she knows that only things with heads can wear such garments.
But when her mom pulls off the hats, the little girl finds herself in the middle of a conundrum. Why do her brothers don’t have heads?
Having no choice but to accept the fact that they’re not going home with a brother in tow, the little girl shook the mannequin while pleading to the people of this cruel fate: “My brother don’t have a head!”
It was a sad end to this Greek tragedy.
She thought she found her long-lost brother, only to learn that it was not possible to take him home.
The good news is, maybe her parents can make the necessary arrangements to finally give her what she wants? In the meantime, she’s still busy “saving” her hair from the rain.
