We often look at little children and think of them as cute, small, and delicate. It’s sometimes hard to imagine that they can be capable of quite extraordinary things, but all over the globe, amazing kids continue to raise the bar and blow people away with their stunning skills. We’ve seen talented young children play musical instruments to a professional standard and sing like stars.
We’ve seen plenty of little ones strutting their stuff on the dance floor too, but you’ve probably never seen a performance quite like this!
The show begins with an empty stage. The audience is silent with anticipation, waiting for the next performer to step out onto the floor at the Confederacion Interamericana de Danza competition.
Maybe they were expecting a group performance, or an adult couple to walk out and perform a ballroom routine. Instead, a teeny tiny young girl walks out quietly onto the stage and takes her place.
She stands on the right side of the dance floor and turns her back to the audience, stretching out her arms and waiting for the beat to begin before she blows them all away.
The little girl is wearing a beautiful, bright yellow outfit, with a traditional headdress and grass skirt. She waits, frozen in position, for a little while until the music starts to play. A booming, banging drum beat begins and the girl hesitates for a moment, looking off to the side of the stage and not moving at all at first.
But seconds later, she starts to shake her hips from side to side, sending her grass skirt flying around left and right, and finally turns around to let us see her face.
She almost looks just like a porcelain doll brought to life with her cute smile and small stature, and she moves her arms, hips, and body to the beat as the routine continues. The audience cheers and hollers at the young girl’s amazing abilities, and for around two whole minutes, she continues to shake and move flawlessly.
She just keeps going, always in time with the beat, never missing a single step, finishing up with one last super fast flourish as she rocks her hips from side to side and strikes a pose, walking confidently off the stage, surrounded by the appreciative applause of every single audience member.
The young girl’s name is Xhunaxhi and her awesome performance earned her a silver medal at the big event. It’s amazing to see such talented little ones, especially when they surprise us with talents and moves we aren’t expecting!
