Parents have so many opportunities to do things with their kids. The type of things that create lifelong memories. Sometimes, that involves horseback riding, trips to the zoo, or skiing. For two little twin girls, their favorite activity was fishing with their dad. But on one particular outing, things didn’t go quite as planned.

Regardless of what parents do with their kids, safety is always the priority. Sure, they want the children to have fun but only if they don’t get hurt. While fishing, one small girl had a big mishap. Fortunately, she didn’t sustain any physical injuries although her pride might’ve been damaged a little.

What happened during this father and daughter fishing trip was posted by the mom. While she felt sorry for her daughter, she found humor in the situation and so did more than eight million online viewers. Let’s just say…things went awry.
A beautiful day
It all started with the twins wanting to go fishing. It was beautiful outside so why not? They expected nothing more than a fun-filled day. At first, the twins stood on the bank hoping to catch a few fish.
Family tradition
The girls constantly ask their dad to take them fishing. For them, it’s not just about casting a line but spending time with someone they love. It’s become somewhat of a family tradition.
Bonding time
With a pond directly across from their home, this gives the dad a chance to bond with his girls. And having fished so often, they’re pretty good. For the most part, they know what they’re doing even at such a young age.
What a mess
But their last fishing trip turned into something scary yet hilarious. You see, one of the girls named Paisley got a reel completely entangled in her hair. The father explains that he cast his line from up on the deck while sitting in a chair.
Reeling in the line
With the pole set between his legs, he started to reel in the line. But without his knowledge, Paisley had crawled onto the deck and underneath where he was sitting. That’s when she poked her head out between her dad’s legs. So, the more he reeled, the more her hair became entangled.
This was major
The reel didn’t wrap around just a little of Paisley’s hair but almost all of it. So, she had this big thing stuck to the side of her head. Although he tried for several minutes to get her hair untangled, he couldn’t do it. That’s when he decided to call his wife.
She couldn’t stop laughing…
…the mom that is. In an interview with a local news station, she explained that it was hilarious. And being so funny and unique, she knew immediately she had to videotape it. That way, she could show it to Paisley when she gets older. Hopefully, she’ll find the incident as hysterical as her mom did.
The solution?
Well first, the mom had to disassemble the entire reel. Otherwise, there was no way to untangle the girl’s hair. Then, piece by piece, she pulled strands out of the different pieces of the reel. As you can imagine, this took quite some time to complete. But finally, the girl’s hair was freed.
