When a couple breaks up, they are not happy at all, and they obviously go through hard times for a while until they rise up again, after their heart has healed.
However, things are tougher if the couple has children.
You see, this makes the whole procedure of simply breaking up or even getting divorced even more difficult since they both need to make some decisions about the future of their family.
And, after one or both of the birth parents have gone on with their lives, they have to make sure their children are happy, too, and they enjoy their new life.
In the case of Kayla, she had broken up with her ex-partner after their baby boy was born, and the young mother was the child’s custodian.
When little Jameson was two years old, he met his mother’s new partner, Chris Overton, who was a nice guy, and with whom Jameson bonded very quickly.
In fact, a couple of months after their first meet-up, the toddler called him dad, which made Chris think that it would be amazing if he ever managed to be Jameson’s official dad.
But things took a long time.
Chris and Kayla got married after some time, and the toddler had a great time during their wedding.
After that, for two whole years, Chris, Kayla, and little Jameson had been in court a few times, trying to complete the adoption process.
“Don’t give up. It was incredibly difficult, incredibly challenging. But when you just follow your heart, you know, you just know the right thing to do,” Christ said during an interview with ABC World News.
Indeed, a few days ago, Chris became Jameson’s legal father- the adoption was finalized.
And, although the man recently had surgery for a broken femur, he knew that this was not something that could hold him back from letting his son know their dream had just come true.
That day, 7-year-old Jameson was in his friend’s pool swimming and playing, and Chris surprised him by jumping into the pool and calling his name.
He then told the boy that he wanted to tell him something, and, only moments later he said that he’s his father now.
Jameson couldn’t be more excited!
He hugged his daddy tightly, and he only stopped when he decided to tell him that he loves him.
Chris replied that he loves him, but Jameson answered that he loves him more!
What an emotional moment!
Kayla caught the surprise on camera and the video has already gone viral- it makes perfect sense, right?
Chris, Jameson, and Kayla will now be a proper family and they just couldn’t be happier!
