The Marine Corps is the first force on the ground in most conflicts.

Marines are stationed all around the world, and they are ready to be deployed at any time.

This does not only affect them personally, but it also affects their families.

You see, once a Marine is deployed, their parents and siblings start getting worried about their wellbeing.

They stop sleeping well at night, and all they can think of is whether their loved one is safe and when they will return home.

Now, imagine how much stress is added to a pregnant woman whose husband is a Marine.

She has to go through the whole pregnancy by herself, she needs to attend doctor’s appointments alone, and she doesn’t even know when her husband will be available to talk to be updated about how the pregnancy is going.

One of those women whose husbands were away during pregnancy is Francis Martinez, Cpl. Brandon Crespo’s wife.

Francis and Brandon first met online, as they shared in an interview with Ellen Degeneres.

The two started off as friends, but soon Brandon expressed his feelings to Francis and they became a couple.

The two got married in 2016, and only a while later, they found out that they were expecting their first child.

Francis shared that going through pregnancy without her husband by her side was tough.

With limited service while Brandon was away from home, it was hard to give him updates on her pregnancy, but somehow they made it work.

In 2018, their son was born.

And, although Brandon could not be there with his beloved wife, he was on the phone, listening to her and encouraging her the whole time she was in active labor.

As the dad admitted, every time he heard Francis make a grunt, he thought the baby was born.

Indeed, after a while, the baby was born, and he couldn’t wait to meet him.

A month later, the Marines arrived at the base in Jacksonville, NC.

There, many families had gathered waiting to be reunited with their loved ones.

Among them, Crespo’s family- parents, in-laws, but most important of all, his wife and newborn son, Noah.

When the Marines were dismissed at the base, the man spotted his wife and started walking towards her.

Once he started getting closer and realized he was about to meet his baby for the first time, he had to actually wipe tears from his eyes.

Soon, he was right next to them, getting the chance to hold baby Noah for the first time.

He kissed his wife, as she was whispering to him “I love you”.

The couple couldn’t be happier. Francis was also holding a sign reading “Out of my way! I meet my daddy today!”, which made the whole moment even cuter.
