The amount of grit this mom has is admirable to say the least.

Mothers will do anything for their children. Isn’t that right?

What would you do if someone steals your car while your children are still inside?

A mother had just gone into the store and was returning to her car when a woman in a black dress pushed her out of the way and stole her car.

The car wasn’t empty

The mother called 911 immediately because her children, her six-year-old daughter and 11-month-old son, were still inside the vehicle. And it looked like the suspect had no idea.

She tried to stop the suspect but was unsuccessful. Not giving up, she jumped on the hood of her car, hanging on for dear life, while the suspect zoomed down the road.

A quick response

Because there were children involved, the Hobbs Police Department responded immediately to ensure the safety of the two children.

Their pursuit was short-lived though because the suspect abandoned the six-year-old daughter at an intersection.

And pretty soon, the suspect abandoned the stolen car, a white Hyundai Santa Fe, and fled on foot.

Fortunately, the suspect was found in the same area, hiding behind a pick-up.

When she saw the police, the suspect began to run but the police caught up to her and she was apprehended immediately.

She was charged with Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer, two counts of Child Abuse, and Resisting Evading or Obstructing an Officer.

Not her first offense

And when the police ran her name, they found out she had three active arrest warrants for Concealing Identity, Shoplifting, and Failure to Appear for traffic violations.

As for the mother, she and her children were brought to the hospital because the mother suffered a few injuries.

But it’s nothing compared to the joy of being reunited with her children.

We’re not sure how she got off the hood but we’re glad she’s okay now and with her children.

A lot of the viewers can understand why she would do what she did.

“Under normal circumstances without kids in the car, this is incredibly stupid. But with her kids inside, it was definitely justified and the right move to make,” zim z said.

“That’s a very brave mother she will do anything to save her kids even risking her life,” kerie Lendore added.

A mother’s love

And it’s true, there’s nothing stronger than a mother’s instinct to protect her children.

“Perhaps the fact that giving birth to a creature who lives inside our womb for so long enables us to forge a long standing connection to their innate side. Perhaps it is because mothers feel a love so strong for their children that it is able to transcend language and traditional methods of communication. Perhaps it quite simply the urgent desire to protect and shield that allows a mother to bridge the gap between time and distance and feel the heartbeat of their child. More than likely a mother’s instinct will never be explained!” Stef Daniel, a mother of four daughters, wrote on Professor’s House.

Thank goodness for her mother’s protective instinct. She did everything she could to save her children, who were not harmed in any way.
