Parenting isn’t easy. You just take it in stride.
That’s what most parents learn to do anyway. It really is the best way to handle most situations as children are always learning. The best thing to do when it looks like your child “really did it this time,” is to, you guessed it, take it in stride.
Moms learn early on that the best thing to do is to take what their kids do and make the best out of the situation.
Take, for example, your child’s artwork. Moms love to see their children doodle to their heart’s desire. Even if the drawing isn’t a Picasso, it’s their best work.
One mom on Reddit with the username, 10fletcher, shared the drawing her daughter made for her over 10 years ago. The drawing was a portrait of her mother. And we know how imaginative children can get so you can only guess how interesting this drawing would be.
It was a masterpiece.
At least that’s what Mom says and we know what she says, goes.
In the title, she wrote, “My kid did this portrait of me over 10 years ago. I still look the same, IMO.”
In the photo, she posted a picture of herself holding up the watercolor painting with a faceful of makeup just like the drawing. It’s almost an exact replica.
There were some things that stood out, of course. For starters, it’s disappointing that the real mom doesn’t have three rows of teeth as her daughter remembered. It also looks like the actual mom is short one eyelash. While the painting has a total of ten (five on each eye), the real mom only has nine now.
Oh, the horror!
Aside from that, everything matches up pretty accurately. The bright, red lipstick is on point. Though, not the most precise, it’s still there! The eyebrows haven’t changed nor have the bags under her eyes. The hair may not be as golden blonde nowadays but that’s something that we can overlook.
One thing is for sure, her daughter sure did have an eye for detail!
Of course, the mom informed users about her daughter’s reaction to being told that her masterpiece from 10 years ago was now floating around online.
“[There was] the usual eye roll at first, but she did get a good laugh and took a screenshot of Reddit to share with her friends. They all pretty much expect this sort of nonsense from me,” she said.
Even the users on Reddit were in love with the portrait.
“This made me laugh quite a bit. I love you.”
Wow! How sweet.
“I love this. I bet you’re an awesome mother. Or a crazy one. Or both. Probably both. The best kind!”
Of course, those are the most awesome parents!
“Woah woah woah there…which one is the painting? The photo realism is uncanny.”
Truly a masterpiece.
Lastly, some words of encouragement just in case her daughter’s drawing wasn’t far from reality.
“I deeply want to believe that you regularly dress and do your makeup that way, and that this picture captures it. That you’re 100% unashamed and have owned this.”
The mom replied that she is in the planning stages of making a night where other moms go out on the town dressed as their kid’s version of them. She stated that pictures are to follow.
Oh, we hope! Now that would be a sight to see!
Always encourage your child’s imagination, folks!
