Bullish Behavior

Being mistreated in school can come in many ways. Bullying has become a nationwide silent epidemic as it has traumatized the lives of countless children everywhere. It can take many forms such as verbal, physical, and emotional abuse that can cause a world of distress on the kid.

While it is partially the school’s responsibility to quell any escalated situation, it is ultimately up to the parents of the child to set the right example. That brings us to an interesting story of a caring mother and her problematic son that has caught internet fire on social media.

The mom has openly posted on a subreddit group titled, “Am I The Asshole? (AITA)” regarding her son’s inappropriate behavior at school.

It looks like an absent father and wealth combine to make a recipe for disaster. Mom has been very lenient with her son and has provided everything from brand clothing, cars, and pretty much anything else you could spoil your son with.

Unfortunately, the spoilage got to her son’s head when he began to make fun of other students for not being as well off as he is. That was definitely a red flag for Mom, and when she was informed of her son’s behavior by the school’s administration, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Like any good, responsible parent would do, Mom had the talk with her son. She explained to him that he should have no personal pride in the stuff he has since he has not worked for them. With no job, savings, investments, or any wealth for that matter, her son was quickly snapped out of his delirious fantasy and was leveled quickly back to Earth.

Mom and the school administration decided to take it a step further

Both parties arranged a meeting with all the bullied kids so that her son can personally apologize for his serious misconduct. In addition, Mom pushed the envelope even further by making lifestyle changes that would help her son realize how lucky he is.

Considering all these changes, Mom was worried that she may have gone too far with her disciplining. To make sure she wasn’t out of line, she took to the subreddit to see whether her actions were deemed inappropriate by a general consensus.

Bullying should be placed to a stop as quickly as possible. Nobody likes feeling like they are worthless, especially at such a young and impressionable age. Issues like these can be resolved in the household where guardians can step in to set the right example.
